Not sure if anyone watched 100% footy but Phil Gould said the problem isn’t brooks, the tigers are the problem with brooks, he’s had 4-5 coaches in his career, close to 10 halves partners and different spine almost every other year with no forwards. How does he succeed with that? Phil Gould reckons he would fit in any top 6 side. 100% agree with that take.

Also believes there was absolutely nothing he could have done in the first half with our defence.

People need to stop blaming him. He’s leading in try assists for the comp. didn’t miss a tackle the other day and had only one error in the last 30 seconds. He is not the problem. Our defence and lack of line speed is killing us.

Put this into perspective
Brooks stats this year
Try assists brooks -7 reynolds -1
The only area reynolds beats brooks in is forced dropouts and that’s only by 3. But if you take into account the fact that brooks does all this in our weak team. It shows he’s much better than what people give him credit for.

Gould can sign him then. He would look fantastic in a Warriors jersey.

As if he wouldn’t want to , with Chanel and nikorima there . He’s a top 6 halfback . He just is . Queue all the haters about 1 moment in the game , when the game was lost anyway. So the whole loss is his fault ....

Wouldn’t surprise me

It certainly wasn’t Brooks’ fault Wests Tigers lost that game but it is absolutely on him that Wests Tigers didn’t win either.

That literally makes no sense. Lost and "didn't win" are the same thing. Either it's his fault, or it isn't.

No there is a difference, sorry you don't see it.

Just one more time, so you can understand.

Lost = didn't win. On that I think we can agree (ignoring draws).

"It certainly wasn’t Brooks’ fault Wests Tigers lost that game"
"It certainly wasn’t Brooks’ fault Wests Tigers didn't win that game"

If Luke Brooks isn't responsible for losing, then he can't be simultaneously responsible for not winning. It's just not physically possible.

You just don’t get it and that’s OK.

Is it certainly not my fault that I don't get it, or is it absolutely on me that I misunderstand?

I think he means that the loss cannot be entirely blamed on Brooks. But Brooks was definitely to blame for robbing the team the opportunity of winning by folding under pressure with the game on the line by dropping a simple kick off

Firstly it wasn't a simply kickoff, I sat right behind it, Kyle Feldt kicks them like Pat Richards used to and it swirled and moved late.

Secondly, ok Brooks dropped the football once. What about every other bloke who dropped the footy the other 79 minutes? They robbed us too, correct? Nofo on that kick restart, Stefano mid-field. Jimmy Jet trying to get around the side and getting tackled into touch. Liddle's forward pass. Also the missed tackles, Joffa missing that young fellow taking a crash ball, nobody cleaning up Drinkwater, Nofo letting Hammer get on his outside etc etc

Only a madman points the finger at a single player for a last-minute hail mary, when the whole team played like busteds for about 60 minutes.

Brooks simply fails in the big moments. Just another example 79th minute all on the line. Disappointmenting.

Any one with half a brain knows Brooks is not soley the problem but supporters have a bandwagon mentality to winning and losing.
Brooks is a decent player in a pretty ordinary squad who to win games have to play to the best of their ability and too often they don't.
I am concerned for Maguire this week the noise is going to get louder and the responsibility for the position we are in will start to fall more squarely on his shoulders - it has to. You can't say we are better than this and then have continual poor performances. We cant win this week unless South's don't turn up - but if we get thumped it will be the coach who the fans will really start turning on and the media will be feeding off it.

Good post! It’s crazy to single out any individual player and lay blame. This is a team(would rather call them something else, because that’s not an apt description) with low morale and displaying signs of dumb obedience. “OK I’ll do it but I’ll do it wrong” kind of attitude. On the background of this it’s unfair to single out anyone. I was hoping this childish nonsense left with Benji.
This club is in real trouble.

The game was over. Payten put it all over Maguire. Souths will murder us if we go in with five hitups, no offloads and a kick.

Lol why are people talking about a drop ball with like 20 seconds to go and about 95m.

It was never going to happen.

We probably would have bumbled and fumbled it anyway

Why not get the pitchforks out for Nofa not trying to catch that kick in the first half?

It was in the SMH article as a reason to put the boot into Brooks.

No mention of the player the chair was involved in signing who Payten targeted for being slow and an atrocious defender. Funny that.😂

Wasn't Brooks who lost the game, it was the forwards that were not hitting the line hard, and showing some aggression in defence. Look at St G Ilawarra, did anybody think they would be ahead of us on the table with there roster ? Simple game plan from their coach

Edges and backs too.

Just when we thought we had a pack that could mix it they still can’t

Noffa should really know to use the sideline to his advantage...its taught to all us wingers from an early age...trouble is he is in the habit of coming in when the centre is there already and trying to help...leaves a gaping hole for the opposing winger to get through or make good yardage...my coach always told me "stick to your opposing man like "s,,t to a blanket"...ah the good old days of rugby league...

He could use the sideline by crossing it and having a beer in the stand.

Apparently we are no longer allowed to quote TA stats, they are only useful and permissible in previous years when Brooks had none.

Not sure if this has been mentioned before but Shaun Johnson off contract at Sharkies not happy about the way Morris is been treated.
Could Brooks end up at the Wests Tigers retirement home Shark Park and Johnson become a Wests Tiger ????

He has Bradbury’s his way to the top...

Now there are reports of a swap between Brooks and Reynolds.
Guess what?
The South’s fans don’t want him ... they’d rather try kids with zero games.

It's from Geyer so it is A grade manure.

If souffs get him it will be because of Wayne Bennett

Not because of some 55 year old bloke named Greg on Facebook

Do you reckon scum fans watch any of our games with interest anyway?

Attack and defence under IC was so much better. We need to look at how we play. Offloads need to be a feature of our game. Our players look scared to demonstrate flair which has always been part of WT DNA.

I think we lead the NRL in offloads
