All the runaround and blaming this guy, the coach, the ball boy… but the person in the most important and influential position in our team is Luke Brooks.
Sadly, he doesn’t cut it.
The halfback in ANY team is always the one under pressure when the team is failing.
It seems we are the only club who doesn’t do something about it - no matter how long it drags on.
First thing I would do today is get on the phone to England and offer to pay whatever transfer fee they want to get Hastings here right ASAP.
It’s now just embarrassing watching Brooks flounder and drag the team down with him…. and even more embarrassing to be a supporter.

So rest of the team gets a pass?

No they don't ... in fact a few have already, deservedly, found themselves having a run in reggies.
You seemed to miss the point... Brooks is the MOST IMPORTANT player in the team and he's a dud.
Other clubs have no problem getting rid of their halfbacks as soon as they don't perform.
In the Roosters case they got rid of Pearce because someone better was available ... yet, here we are sitting on our hands forever.
I seriously don't think Madden is ready yet, or Walters is good enough, but the axe has to fall on Brooks.
Remember what he said, in his own words, ... "IT'S MY TEAM".

I’d argue the dummy half is the most important position on the field considering they get their hands on the pill the most

Would you say Simpkin’s service is first grade standard? coincidentally we looked better when Liddle was on

The money says the halfback is the most important position because it is.
Madden is still a kid with lots of upside, and, while I am a fan of Liddle, I could see why he was dropped.
Good to see him fight back. He's a first grader.
Doesn't change the fact we need our attack and direction to stem from the halfback - like all good teams do.

I have defended Brooks, but he simply looks lost. Completely robotic without putting any thought or judgment into what he is doing on the field.

I am assuming that he is carrying out the game plan of the coach, otherwise he would have played quite a bit of reserve grade over the past couple of years.

It seems that any actual instinct has been completely coached out of him over the last few years. Going to be very hard to reset at this point.

Make a change madge or you and Brooks are going down together.

Honestly, I always thought Luke Brooks and Ben Hunt were very similar players in terms of style and general demeanor. Looking at the form of Ben Hunt, I am pondering on how Madge is not getting the best out of Luke Brooks.

The Roosters showed the way with Flanagan, they quick assessed he is crap a d kicked him as far as they could, Barrett picks him up and declares he is a top notch halfback, he is even worse than Brooks...it’s time we realised how average Brooks really is and do the same

Here's a thought, why don't you let the new coach decide? I'd bet I know what the answer would be!

This is a results driven business. We haven't had too many favourable results.

So, you'd sack the coach before or as well as Brooks? What if the new coach wants to sack Brooks too? Where would you stand with that? Just curious.

Ive turned to Madge must go despite all the reasonable arguments of bad look and his plan is working. A new coach could be given some instruction to work within the basic club policy of working with youth that has been developed by Hartigan and Maguire, so they dont stray too far in a new direction meaning another total rebuild. Maguire- results count and you just cant ignore that. In my books same with Brooks..

The Coach has to go. Brooks is a fine NRL half. I'm sure a new coach will keep Brooks for that reason.

Agree but changing Coaches is not the answer...

He's not getting results. No improvement. Embarrassingly we are going backwards.
