I'm happy to have Mbye at 6. Our backs are seeing the ball and with Talau and Roberts, Doueihi and Nofoaluma you want them to get the ball as much as possible. He played well tonight.

Still stinks it up at 6
We need better

I think you should watch the games.

I watched ..
We need better

Yeah, good judge..

He’s crap at everything and he’s on monumental coin ..
Do you think with him playing at 6 we’ll ever make the semis ?
He ran for 29 meters tonight ..
And he’s also asked for a release .
Wake up to yourself !

So the best performances all year, And the most points we’ve scored, along with Brooks’ resurgence have come with Mbye at 5/8 and you think he stinks it up because he runs for 29 metres. Go watch the netball.

He’s puss ..
He has no substance just like your posts

3 great games from Luke again. I think the reason behind this form shift is a case of a few things.
1. Other players playing better.
2. Change in tactics.
3. We shift the ball more
4. Have more depth
5. We have more playmaking options:
-- Douiehi becomes a playmaker when his winger or second rower get tackled near the sideline. Sometimes he becomes the third receiver and Luciano goes to centre.
-- Brooks goes anywhere. He is predominantly at first receiver, but occasionally one of the others will go to first receiver if he feels like having an option to run the ball or put his second rower in space.
-- Laurie becomes first receiver on the left when Mbye and Brooks are on the right.
-- Mbye doesn't get in the way of Brooks. Mbye goes short side if the numbers stack up. Otherwise Doueihi is an option on the short side just in case.

I really think that how we have arranged our playmakers and structuring at what times they should enter the game has made a world of difference.

I want to note that Daine Laurie is special and we are lucky to have him. He is very good on the left. Still needs to develop his game playing left to right. I think this is why Mbye is great for the team, as he can play second receiver on that side, then you can have Doueihi as third receiver. This way you don't have to ask Laurie to do something he's not yet ready to do.

tl;dr we have more playmakers in better structures.

Brooks was good tonight overall. He’s improved in a big way this year. Not sure the stats but he’s way more decisive.

His short kicking game and decision making are both back, we’re scoring points and building pressure. Also makes his tackles. Hope he keeps it going .

Big game for him against an under strength Penrith at Leichhardt. Could make or break his Tigers career IMO. Penrith will still be strong.

Flying... it’s our good week

Yes, a big 5 weeks coming though, if we can jag one or two it would be sensational.
Panthers, it’s our best chance to blow Ivan a kiss?
Eels, not confident
Storm, don’t think so
Rabbits, a big chance
Bye, finally.

None of our guys will see rep duties so it’s a great run to have right now. Hope we take advantage

The other big part of Brooks' recent improvement is Liddle coming back into 9 and actually playing to his ability. In the last 3 games the first pass from dummy half (when we're going to the 7 rather than just to a short forward) has been a much longer, and deeper pass that at the start of the season.
That's moving the point of attack wider and deeper and giving Brooks more time and space.
It's working well for everyone.

I think Madge showed he can coach with a few changes 3 weeks ago. Lots on here including myself thought he was cracking jokes.

Laurie is doing a very good job as fullback and playing as a 2nd 5/8 or playmaker on the left. He is already a much better judge of when to run, pass or kick than Doueihi or Mbye.

I don't think the 2022 spine is set in stone yet but with Hastings, Doueihi and Mybe we have some workable options.

With at least 3 of the spine looking set for the rest of the year we can finally have some consistency and time to work on combinations, running set plays faster and learning where to be in support.
