We can’t recruit anyone so moving on Brooks now makes no sense. If Hastings is the better option move him on next year.

That said the club may be removing the losing culture from within the club by taking out senior players and starting again. Sometimes it has to be done. Penrith got rid of Luke Lewis, Wade Graham etc and they went on to win a premiership.

We need a leader not a reasonably good player.

Technically Doueihi isn’t really making anybody around him better either

Technically that's a premature eveluation.

He’s proven to be an excellent individual player but that’s only got us 6 wins this year…

No issue with our team, It’s just all on our halfback right? Hastings is 100% the missing link?

Please show me where ive said Hastings is the missing link?

Asking more of the current halfback, thats all. I doubt the guy can be the type of player a squad like ours need to take a step forward.

Sorry if that hurts your feelings.

Sorry. All the knockers sound the same so it’s hard to keep track

Agree… Brooks should make Pauga’s tackles for him, it’s not asking for much

You know you are losing the discussion when you throw in a centres tackling ability lmao

All for moving Brooks on for his sake. But it will be at the detriment of the club. If he gets premiership elsewhere good on him. If he gets one here I’m sure it would feel even sweeter for him though.

With our inability to recruit atm letting Brooks go, with a shortage of quality players let alone half backs, would be the dumbest thing this club could do. I've have been critical of Brooks of many occasions but my expectations of him are higher than those around him, and he is streets ahead of nearly all our players. When we go well it always has a positive impact on his game. We need to surround him with better players, before another club ups the anti and does.

? the people who hate on him this far into the season when he’s probably our top 3 just about every week must get bored

Any one with half a footy brain would know we need to look at our centre’s & second row options long before we look at moving our halfback on

But it’s his faulty we lose , because apparently the half runs into the holes , passes to himself , tackles on both sides of the field , takes the hitups and kicks to himself .

I’d keep Brooks he plays hard and is a good player. He’s not a leader or organiser but they are rare and we can’t sign one.

I reckon with a bit of tweaking. Our future organiser can do that from the middle of the field.

Yep, why wouldn’t I throw in possibly the worst 1 on 1 defender I’ve ever seen in first grade? It’s almost like conceding 30-40+ points every week through serial shirt grabbers is losing us games (and yes he has mates)

You reckon. I doubt it. People mention trades all the time. The NRL doesn't have a trade system. If you are hoping a trade is going to work for you then you are grasping at straws.

I'm fine with Brooks going if we have better. I can see your point about him not being the guy that may lead us forward. I'm not sold on this belief but he isn't Andrew Johns.

I don't think you can justify letting one of your best players go unless you have an exceptional contingency plan.

It all depends on the dollars though.

This is it Earl...that's why some of this trade/shopping stuff is laughable...The Clubs don't own players where they can trade them of to other Clubs for one of their players..they are not meat.. Players are contracted to a Club to play NRL for that Club..it's not Baseball..

The best a Club can do is tell a player they are not in future plans and give them permission to look elsewhere ...

It would be so Tigers like to get rid of one of our best performers this year and replace him with Hastings who is not proven at NRL level. Would definitely signal a complete rebuild.

Should probably use the Warriors as the example whom not only got the decision wrong to move on Johnson but admitted to it by rerecruiting him.

Robbie Farah says hi and Benji has one hand up as well.

Imagine thinking of getting rid of one of our best players most weeks, who also happens to be an awesome defender for a halfback in a market that doesn't have halfbacks to start with, where Moses and Ben hunt are on a good 200-400k more but aren't better than players in my opinion. What's even better is we got no one to replace him with. Our problem is centre. Don't change anyone else in the team at all period! Our team is young bar a half full of guys, with a half the spine not having played more than a handful of games at 1st grade in those positions. I know everyone is tired of not making the 8 but this is a team that has potential to dominate in the coming years if we can keep them together.

Just lamenting my perceived cost to the club in so many ways and for so many years that only finished at the end of last season.

Severely frustrated and I can't even go to watch my team lose.

That’s it!! He is a single option. Wish the rest of the team put in as much effort as Brooks did. He has been one of our most consistent performers all season. Nuts to get rid of him.
