just wait and see.....I think that Luke has been very good this year and over the years I have been a critic of his ....I give credit where its due,this year he has stepped up...I wonder if there is something going on big time within the club that we know nothing about..something along the lines of players playing well in contract years,although Brooks still has a couple of years on his....but contracts arent really contracts anymore these days..

Could be right. Could very much be a ‘contract year’ for Luke I.e a year to quietly find another suitor.

My Parra member didnt specifically say that Luke would be at Parra....just remember Mitch and Luke were pretty tight in the years at WTs....the inner circle of the NRL knows a heck of a lot more than we do...just sit tight and lets see if anything eventuates by next season,it isnt to long now before this season comes to an end...

I sincerely hope you are wrong about Brooks,Hastings would be a poor substitute

I think that would be a clever move for Brooks, clearly he appeared disinterested in 2020.

Brooks has been putting in a few early kicks at good times and going for some 40-20's in the last few weeks. The ability to change the game with the occasional smart and well executed kick can turn the momentum of a game and something his game has been lacking.

All halfbacks have strengths and weaknesses, it is good to see Brooks working on adding something to his game.

We can’t recruit anyone so moving on Brooks now makes no sense. If Hastings is the better option move him on next year.

That said the club may be removing the losing culture from within the club by taking out senior players and starting again. Sometimes it has to be done. Penrith got rid of Luke Lewis, Wade Graham etc and they went on to win a premiership.

You reckon. I doubt it. People mention trades all the time. The NRL doesn't have a trade system. If you are hoping a trade is going to work for you then you are grasping at straws.

I'm fine with Brooks going if we have better. I can see your point about him not being the guy that may lead us forward. I'm not sold on this belief but he isn't Andrew Johns.

I don't think you can justify letting one of your best players go unless you have an exceptional contingency plan.

It all depends on the dollars though.

This is it Earl...that's why some of this trade/shopping stuff is laughable...The Clubs don't own players where they can trade them of to other Clubs for one of their players..they are not meat.. Players are contracted to a Club to play NRL for that Club..it's not Baseball..

The best a Club can do is tell a player they are not in future plans and give them permission to look elsewhere ...

And arrange an opening at a willing club. More and more we are seeing it.

If he leaves hope he goes to a successful club.
I know he and his family love the club and he deserves better than what our club has dished around him as a support cast.

Imagine thinking of getting rid of one of our best players most weeks, who also happens to be an awesome defender for a halfback in a market that doesn't have halfbacks to start with, where Moses and Ben hunt are on a good 200-400k more but aren't better than players in my opinion. What's even better is we got no one to replace him with. Our problem is centre. Don't change anyone else in the team at all period! Our team is young bar a half full of guys, with a half the spine not having played more than a handful of games at 1st grade in those positions. I know everyone is tired of not making the 8 but this is a team that has potential to dominate in the coming years if we can keep them together.

Kratos, an excellent post, but common sense is as rare as rocking horse shit on this forum.

I hope that what I have passed on to the forum about Luke not being here next year is just some more garbage about our club and people are speculating on opinions....I do think that within the NRL there are people who know a lot more than we do,coaches,managers and players all communicate among themselves about things we arent privy to...
I dont really know anything about Mitch Moses apart from his time with us,but I think someone on here said that they shared accommodation together and are still friends...maybe something was said and my Parra member mate has picked up on it or has got it wrong...
In my honest opinion I hope Luke stays as he has really stepped up this year and AD will be a great halves partner for him,having said that we all know how things can change in a heart beat within the NRL involving contracts and signings...
