Raiders need a half to partner Wighton.

Frawley and Swilliams both off contract currently and both are subpar. The only other half option contracted to them next year that I can see is Brad Schneider (1 appearance).

The club needs to be encouraging a trade of sorts or just plain offloading him.

He is inhibiting any growth of the team and is too passive as a senior player and as our halfback.

I still stand by my Brooks to Raiders, Tapine to Titans and Fogarty to us trade. If not that then something of the sort.

We need outside the box solutions but hypothetically even if Brooks was to take us to the finals in 2022 he doesn’t have the temperament to stand up in the big games and we would drop our bundle as a result.

Reverse your scenario and I think you’ll find each club would be better off.

That’s fair, I can see the value in that.

Guess it hinges on how good Hastings goes, I haven’t kept up to date with any of his ESL experiences so don’t know how he has progressed.

It would leave our halves depth maybe a little thin would be my concern, especially with AD and TT (last resort) both out for a while. Would leave Madden, Hastings and Laurie, the latter of who we would have to cover at 1, to cover 2 positions.

Personally, I think Kelma/Blore/Lucy/Seyfarth/Garner/Simpkins is plenty of backrowers already.

Though again, I can see the value in your proposal as well, it wouldn’t personally be my #1 avenue

Brooks is poo, he has the worst kicking game of any half in the NRL. He is utterly clueless and is unable to game manage. He can tackle but who cares when that is one of the last requirements on his job description.

I’m with you 5150. Just run, take the line on, pass it if you can. He’s fast and a good defender. That’s about all any good centre is these days.

I think he’d given up by then. Especially considering the number of tackles he was making. I’ll rate him as a defender but he’s definitely no half back.

His defence is passable yet nothing special. If he had given up then he should have been sent to reggies to change his attitude.

Its a good point, I havent seen it looked at from that perspective before. I think its important to consider it before discarding Brooks. Needs some looking into.

Great point, hadnt considered him at centre. Could fix a lot of our problems.
