Sheens statement articulates that the club are unified in its decision making and possibly averts any crisis.
We of all people should know how the media - including social media - can be significantly damaging and pose further threat or harm to our brand/operations(including recruitment), so it's good for PR management.

I appreciated the reference to Luke's team mates and family. It's especially gotta be hell for them and his words are also rather respectful to them IMO.

How much more harm could our brand experience?
We are already a laughing stock within the game and our recruitment department is disrespected/taken advantage of by all other clubs.
The only thing missing is an extremely well deserved spoon.
Next year…

Maybe if you didn't focus on the thoughts of others it wouldn't be bothersome for you. There's also something wrong with the fact you've taken a swipe at my post because you can't control it.
I'd for once like to support my team without having to deal with negative and passive aggressive people.

…and I would like to see my club succeed.
Sticking by a halfback who has failed for 8 years consecutively is not going to achieve this.

Are you comfortable trying to bully a woman?
Why engage with someone who you clearly disagree with, for the simple sake of an argument?

hhahaha what a pissweak reply...
The sexist card eh?
pathetic

It was perhaps an error of judgement to play that card.

It doesn’t take a man to point it out…

Doesn't matter if I'm male female or those other new ones these days
If it were the race card, the gay card... Any card, I'm calling out that post for what it is.
Falsely accusing someone of bullying is pathetic
Online bullying is very serious and has led to suicide from genuine victims... Its Nothing to make light of

Lauren's posts are always well considered and insightful. I hope Lauren continues to post her contributions.

+1

Who is getting bullied ....

I dont understand your point (genuinely)?

About 4 posts above yours someone mentioned about someone getting bullied .....was asking the question ....

I dont know, I wasnt keeping up with it all, saw a heap of deleted posts, saw something that Lauren posted that may have been ill advised and a mistake but I am simply adding my +1 to the statement that Laurens posts are generally well thought out and well expressed and she is a valuable contributor to the forum.

This is not to absolve any bullying, I am just not aware of it.

@Lauren makes more sense than half the posters on here ......

You put Brooks in one of the top teams like Storm or Roosters & you will see the difference he is not the problem.

I’ve read and heard this throw away line many times.
It can’t be qualified but that never stops the author trying to claim the higher ground by stating it can’t be proven wrong.
It’s laughable nonsense.

If it can’t be qualified as you say, how can you know it’s nonsense?

The whole premise of saying it is nonsense. It is more often used as a slogan rather than personal opinion.

You were arguing equal validity of opinion in another thread, and now you are trying to argue someone's prediction is nonsense?

If someone cannot hypothesise about Luke Brooks at another club, fine, then we have to throw out all predictive arguments and opinions because none of them can yet be proven. That means, at this time, no criticism of Hastings, no speculation about Madge being punted, nothing about the injuries and capability of Gildart, or about future signings etc etc.

So ultimately I think it's nonsense to say people cannot speculate - it removes half the discussion points of this forum, and 95% of the discussion points of the off-season.

I know some mods don't like Brooks but I think if this forum is going to be serious about enforcing rules without looking like a dictatorship they should close any Luke Brooks threads.

This forum is incapable of not demonstrating emotional responses that don't come across as highschool bulling when it comes to Brooks.

Like sheens said false rumours and the talk around it effect Brooks family but forum contributors and mods time after time show they don't care about this when it comes to pushing their agenda.

Enforcing community standards, please don't treat us like idiots, this place has always been about enforcing personal agenda

What was it you were just saying about whinging?
This is an open forum. The rules and guidelines are being followed. Calling for threads to be shutdown because the content clashes with your views is sad.
People haven’t just formed their opinions on Luke. It has come from years of evidence. He is still young enough to make his name. It just seems more and more evident that it has to happen somewhere else.

Except it’s not going to. But please, continue to scream in your echo chamber as he starts pre-season at our club with the obvious backing of the clubs hierarchy.

Surly it’s getting to the point now where people are accepting he’s not going anywhere. It’s crazy that it’s almost November, and only 2-3 weeks away from pre-season and there are STILL comments about how their preference would be to move him on and that the time has come to say goodbye, punt him etc.Surely by now it’s spam. No one has to like that he’s not going anywhere, but surely the time has come to stop fighting reality and not only accept he’ll be here, but will be prominent. starting at 7.

There are still plenty of opportunities for horse trading.
With a bit of luck this story isn’t complete yet.

Still Nov 1 hope for many of us

When we see the Dolphins walk in and grab a heap of talent .....

Truth is no7 is a very difficult position these days..yr expected to lead the team around the field, but also take on enormous athletes constantly targetting you in defence.
There seems to be either the really "good"7s ..Cleary/DCE/Reynolds /Hughes/Cook/Pearce/Walker and maybe a few others who are emerging...and then there are the fringe dwellers like Brooks/Taylor/Flanagan/Deardon and Croft who have been found wanting in one of the above areas
The difference is all the other fringe no7s who have struggled to establish themselves have been punted by their respective clubs, with many losing high $$ contracts in the process..and being virtually unemployable
but we extend Brooks and increase his salary regardless??
And as weve hired his immediate and long term (hopefully) replacement,I wouldnt be standing in Brooks way if another club wanted to take him

Well, maybe Newcastle would want him if Pearce goes ... and maybe the Bulldogs.
You're wrong about the other two.
Croft was given another chance at Brisbane after Melbourne didn't want him. Taylor was poached from Brisbane to the Titans.
Both failed.
If someone was silly enough to take Brooks they'd get the same result.
What you see is what you get... he's not going to play any differently no matter where he goes.
Just wish he wasn't stinking up our team.

November 1 is the myth that is forever growing on this forum. The date that promises so much every year, yet always delivers nothing.

Don’t we have a seperate Brooks thread for all this …… this is just a joke.
Brooks is one of our halves next year. Just live with it people.

I've just caught up on all the weekends posts and man this place is really depressing at times. I've never seen so much negativiy and agression towards others. There really is a massive issue here and it has nothing to do with the team we all support.

It is frustrating that we are kept within a never ending loop of incompetence and mediocrity when it comes to recruitment.

I'm sick & tired of all the Brookes "namby pambies & fanboys" making pathetic excuses & being his defenders of their mindless faith of his nuff nuff abilities & bog average game day performances.
