Was critical of Luke but I wish I had my time again to retract some of what I said. I don't know the guy, but if he isn't the most confident, then this lynch mob formed of has-beens and never-weres (like me) isn't going to help him.

Keep your head up Luke, you are 100 times tougher than most of us and you can turn this around.

The bloke is being paid a lot of money to fail at his job.
I'd be out on the streets if I failed for 8 years in my job. Would have been out in my first yearly review.

When you go to your job @cleanskin do other people at your workplace try to smash you and make your life a misery?

Are you suggesting that NRL level opposition is the reason that Brooks is not performing?

We all know Brooks' strength is his running game. Clearly playing Luke at halfback is simply not working.
IMO i'd switch Doueihi to halfback that way takes a heap of pressure off Brooks, let Doueihi control.

That's part of the deal. I'm sure he was quite aware before even starting to play league that you get smashed playing the game.
You are making out he is some kind of victim of something.
It's sport.

Madge has taken away the excuses this year. Forward pack at least holding its own, No Benji/Robbie, some punch on the edges and at fullback. Sink or swim and at the moment Brooks is sinking badly.

Mates of mine have called Brooks out for years that are not fans of the Tigers.

I think I’ve been conned into thinking yet again our own players are better than they actually are. It’s telling Harry Grant, Daine Laurie are making our players look poor.

Cannot believe most of you so called Tiger supporters on this site, you have a team , where most of the players have never played together and have just come off a shorter off season than usual. They come against two sides that are rated in the top 4. Sure they got beaten badly, but a halftime they were in both those games. Then there is the usual excuse most of you come up with, **blame Brookes, and sure he put two dud kicks in , but apart from that he had a good game.** We had more than two dud calls from the ref, It was clear Roosters had a game plan, ie run towards BJ. That worked and they won the game.

Unfortunately those two bad kicks arent something to just ignore.

We are a team that needs momentum and giving away 7 tackles sets and releasing the pressure valve so easily kills that.

Yes only two bad kicks but those two bad kicks killed everything good we had been building. We never recovered after that.

I don't know about anyone else, but I felt a great sense of relief when we got caught with the ball on the last tackle and handed the ball over 10 metres out.

It was definitely a better result than the kick into the in goal area and gifting a 7 tackle set and a quick 20 metre tap putting us under immense pressure.

100%. At least our field position was good right?

No I am making out your job probably isn't comparable to a footballers.

Develop Madden for a Madden (7) Brooks(6) combo…AD can play centre with Talau, JTJ and Nofo on the wings… Madden already is a better game manager than Brooks

After two rounds I now understand why Farah and Benji constantly over called him

I have always thought he plays better when he has a dominant player to fall back on - hope Douehi is up for it.

We tried brooks at 6 last year and he was even worse.

Yeah I don’t subscribe to the Brooks at 5/8 thing. IMO Brooks is too structured for 6. If he’s not running the team he’s even worse.

Our best hope this year IMO is Madden or Mbye at 7, and AD at 6.

Time to shop Brooks around.

And Brooks should give him some of his pay chq....its only fair if AD has to do his job as well as Lukes...

I agree the pressure went off Ash Taylor when the coach changed the number on his back. Taylor wasn’t even mentioned in the nrl 360 list of overpaid halves recently despite no improvement in his game. For his sanity I think it would be as simple as a number switch for Brooksey.

He may not play better naturally at 6, but there would be less external pressure for him to perform. He could still play the same role. My thinking is more of a number swap.

Brooks does some wishy-washy things on field, he has had a good stint in FG, but man honestly I just feel for the bloke mentally. I'm hurting inside, the criticism he is copping isn't good for his health.

His attempts at playing 7 are not good for my health either

From the article by Joey and Fittler
The halfback is currently on a four-year contract worth $2.4 million, expiring at the end of 2023.
By my reckoning that’s $600,000 a season?
So where does $850,000 get plucked from?
