The Eels knew who our dangerous players were. They rushed Brooks and Jet, then in the 2nd half tried to limit Doueihi ‘s kicking time. But it was Brooks who was their main target.

Eels line speed was incredible you’d think they were off side or atleast pushing the boundaries. That being said our side in attack stands so flat it’s slim pickings for the opposition

Exactly, and I think that was the glaring difference in the 2 teams, particularly in the first quarter. Eels looked super confident following their 3 wins, while WT needed a try to act as a circuit breaker. Were they in a trance during the first 20?
Was this the first decent crowd they played in front of for 12 months? I don’t know why they lacked urgency and aggression in the opening 20? Maybe it’s inexperience? Anyway, the important feature of their play is that it’s improving each week, just need a couple of solid wins to boost confidence?

Brooks would be inundated with offers if available. Some of our supporter base have so much ill will towards Brooks I find it difficult to reconcile.

Inundated by Super League .
I hope so cause we need him off our books .

NRL and Superleague clubs. Cowboys, Broncos, Knights, Bulldogs at a first glance are looking for a quality half and Books is that.

Can’t even get his name correct .
He’s an inconsistent myth ..

Man, watching us vs Parra.

We were Pummled.

Not Brooks fault on that. He goy a few opportunities and helped us get 20 points. I cannot fault him.

Our defense too, it held a line. We were not Porus slop. Yes, parra had a creative attack and rattled us, but they employed tactics to rattle us Unlike say easts that will just pass the ball to a center/winger and stroll on through.

We did well, in a comp where people are loosing 40/0 we actually performed. Long way to go.

Why blame Brooks when its clear Andrew Johns couldnt have won that game for us.

Brooks is the go to scapegoat. The usual suspects will call for his sacking even though he played well.

Having said all that

Why is our attack so clunky and why are we so reliant on AD getting his bombs right and ad lib footy

Someone has to take responsibility for that .....

Secondly ...your making excuses .....Johns could have won that game and other sides are getting beaten by 40

What does that have to do with Brooks

Same question ...who do you blame for the clunky attack and being solely reliant on either a great kick from Douehi or ad lib footy

It's either Madge's fault , Liddle's fault , Brooks fault

You can't blame anyone outside Brooks because they never get quality ball ...

5 sets in our opp 20
5 tries

What about conceding 5 tries with our paper tissue goal line defense?
I would be working our defense over time at training if anything.

Blaming individuals for yesterday’s loss is almost childish at this point

Well both sides of the ball we are diabolical yesterday ....Brooks is our ball player he has to take ownership .....we had 3 sets finish when we had great field position with a player basically get tackled without a shot fired one out without a kick

You can't excuse that ....make as many excuses as you all want ....

In a sense in the end our defence is put under so much pressure because our attack can't fire a serious shot against half decent sides

Childish ...making ridiculous excuses for an underperforming chief playmaker ......might be time to move your dreamcatcher to a better Feng Shui area of the house

Have you given credit to the quality of the Eels quick moving defence especially targeting our best players?

Attacking kicks are a legitimate form of attack, the Eels certainly use them.

I'd like us to use more offloads but defence was our issue yesterday. We need better intensity, line speed and communication.

Not taking our chances in the 1st 25 minutes was as just a big problem

We know our defence is crap and will fold under pressure

The more pressure you apply in attack .....makes it harder for the opposition to attack ...we throw nothing at teams

Don't have an issue at using attacking kicks ...but when they fail we hand the opposition the ball back in good field position ...leading to even more pressure on our biggest weakness

A few of you really need to watch games and understand what is happening

Why did Twal get hooked so early? I thought I saw him offload once, was that the reason? Or did Madge want to get our specialist #14 into the game, just to see how a ball playing lock could change the dynamics and maybe ease the pressure on Brooks?

Yes that underperforming halfback who set up 3 of our 4 tries after being down 16-0 so early in the game

Lol really man? Good sides defend their goal line repeatedly. We couldn’t even defend 1 set without leaking a try. It’s a massive problem this side has not addressed in the last 10 years

As for the last bit I’m not sure if that was meant to be funny ... because I’ve heard better sayings from 10 year olds

Correct and if you think the lamenting of Momo is bad, imagine what this place will be like when Brooks kicks on somewhere else.

Even Madge said how well Mbye did for the team when he came on....Moses has haters on this forum, but Madge knows his capabilities as a footballer and thats why he hasnt owned a particular position in the side,he keeps being used all over the place...He isnt a specialist hooker, lock or centre but does the job when thrown in there...Yesterday if he was in Tom Ts spot the defense on that side would have been better...

Good summary. We were beaten but a much better team. Their forwards were incredible and for the most part we held them. Plenty of good signs in that game.

Brooks pushed up in support. He was there in the moment. If he wasn’t there for that Lucy offload, we just talk about Lucy making a good run.

Half the game in attack is built on support play these days
