OK, sure I’ll admit he’s not the best half in the comp, but he’s our half.
How dare Brooks let Moses crab 40 meters across field and leave our defensive line staggered ! That’s Brooks fault!
Are you honestly happy with what Brooks contributes to the team ?
Are you honestly happy with our goal line defense?
Clearly our biggest issue out of yesterday imo
Of course not but it’s the lack of brains and the failure of our main playmaker to get the upper hand in gaining us repeat sets which then forces the plodders to do more work in defence
Then it all snowballs into an avalanche .
Everyone of Brooks’s halves partners has had to carry the load due to his incompetence but for some reason the mediocrity fan club think he’s just wonderful ...
And that my friend is why we haven’t made the 8 in donkeys years .
How many games did Flanagan play at the Roosters 18? 20 ?
He didn’t cut it so they offloaded him but nah ...
Not with Lukey boy ... he’s wonderful..
Let’s give him 150+ games and pray ..
I just had a quick check, Hobby, there doesn’t appear to be a Sam Walker in the ranks waiting for an opportunity?
That’s the result of two decades of mismanagement and neglect. How we managed to hang onto Brooks should be seen as a small success. Now, if only we can defrag his hard drive and make him forget a lot of what we’ve taught him?
Brooks was our 18yo Sam Walker.
Pretty sure Sam Walker was signed from Ipswich jets , with the whole football world offering the world to him .
It’s hardly great roster management to chase the best kids . Same thing for Sualli. It’s a by product of the common knowledge that if you play for the roosters you will stumble into boats , apartments , 30k par 4s etc . As well just a successful club on the field .
You can’t bag the tigers for not having a Walker , as neither did the roosters , the kid came from his dads team up north .
No but they do recruit mentality. That's the real reason for their continued success.
Sam walker 18yo and giving speeches to his team, demanding this and that. Asking more of grown men like JWH.
They do their homework and recruit to fit their culture.
Mate that's all fluff about Sam Walker; just fluffy narrative about a debutant. Of course Roosters talk up his ability and his mentality.
Change "Sam Walker" for "Luke Brooks" in that story and people howl it down as fluff and rubbish. Who cares what he is reported to say or be like, it only matters if he can get the wins. And Walker is lucky he is debuting into the 2021 Chooks and not the 2013/14 Tigers.
What really makes me wonder is Broncos lined up to re-sign Sam Walker (he was already a junior) and he was apparently unimpressed with the way the Broncos handled negotiations, instead chose the Roosters. If you are a young boy from Ipswich and you choose not to re-sign at 16 years old with your current club, the club that your Dad and both of your uncles debuted for - what is that saying either about the Broncos or the Roosters? Recall that at the time (June 2019) Broncos had not won the wooden spoon and were finalists.
Oh maybe it has something to do with the fact that in 2019 Roosters made Sam Walker the highest paid 16 year old sports person in Australia.
