How can anyone think Brooks had a good game with his kicking last week? He did 7 kicks and ONE was effective. That's not a good outcome at all..... the one time he landed it on the try line we scored off it, all the other kicks landed 10 metres out. He never once turned around the opposition with a long kick into a corner either.

He puts the same two kicks in. A long kick straight down the throat of the opposition, or a short high kick that doesn't land on the try line. He doesn't even attempt grubber kicks into the in goal anymore after booting them all dead. In fact all we did was give it to Doueihi to kick because he's so much better at it.

Kicking is the #1 thing he needs to fix. His passing and running game has been good the last two weeks but if he wants to be a HALFBACK who leads the team around he needs to be better with the boot. I can't remember the last time we forced a dropout with a good kick or found the grass in the corner

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but just because Doueihi has a high torp that Ferguson and Gutho struggled to catch doesn’t mean his kicking game is “so much better”. Apart from those bombs his kicking game was actually not much better

How do you know that Brooks isn’t instructed by Madge to mid field bomb? it’s actually a common tactic in today’s game and most teams do it. Like they say, your kick is only as good as your chase and maybe we aren’t getting the 1%’rs right

I agree with this. whatever bomb is put up our chasers are hardly banging down the door to get to it....

I remember when Brooks chased his own bomb and smashed Tedesco in round 2 , it made me think...so that’s what good kick chase looks like

and stuff like that lifts people around you. IMO no excuse for backs not to get downfield to pressure bombs....how good would it feel to a forward watching the backs get in and do that? You'd want your turn to belt the opposition next I would think

So what you're saying is if you take out all the good kicks Adam did his kicking wasn't much better than brooks?

If Madge is coaching brooks to kick straight down the throat of the opposition every single time then he needs to be sacked on the spot. Watch how Moses continually found the corners and turned us around - brooks was dropping them 30 metres out.

Field position is so crucial and brooks just isn't good at it. He's not a bad player but he's not a halfback either.

No I’m saying the reason adams kicks were so effective is because gutho and Ferguson had flipper hands. If gutho and Ferguson didn’t drop those bombs are his kicks even really any better? If you think his kicks will do that every week you’re kidding yourself.

What do you mean? Watch Penrith tonight. Or literally any top team play. The gap between the top teams and teams like us is first and foremost talent obviously and effort. I’m not saying Brooks is awesome at kicking but if our players actually had a dig you’d probably get a better result and force an error or something.

Brooks can’t even put up a spiral bomb
Doueihi has to do it ..

Adams kicks have caused issues for multiple teams.... his bombs are very hard to catch. They're also high enough to make a good chase.

I'm sure a better chase would help brooks what also would help is forcing some dropouts, finding the grass or actually kicking deep when we are in our own in goal. Would like to see us kick on fourth or even third more too.

Hasn’t led us to a finals series in 8 years !

All Brooks needs to do is just run !

Sack Brooks!!!

Get them onside ref!!

I’ve levelled it down to the insight you give

Am I doing it right?

I reckon Brooks favourite beer is XXXX because he’s 5i$$ weak !!!

You reckon given the events of the week we would just give it a rest..for 1 week..

All this brooks bagging is a joke. If your going to bag Brooks you need to bag Benjis record as well. Apart from 2005 which we wouldn't of won the comp without Prince and Hodgson. Benji didn t much as well.

Been quite funny reading the last couple of pages and comparing it to what actually happened on Sunday afternoon.

Having the crowd ooooohing whilst the ineffective spiral bombing continued ad nauseam was theatre, but useless strategy when we gained much better field position from the seven and he didn't give them a lollipop 7 tackle set early on to boot.

Pretty sure benji did one or two things in 2005, went deep in finals as well 08/09?
I wouldnt be comparing brooks record to benji's, a sombre tale

Go and watch the game again. I did. Brooks kicking game was good. Your criteria for a good kicking game is out of whack.

Didn't need to be watched again, as it was plain as day at the ground.

Compare it to Reynolds kicking yesterday, not in the same universe. 0 repeat sets and mostly kicks dropping 10 or more metres out when we are in attacking position that were ineffective. His kick that dropped ON the try line to set up Laurie was excellent, he needs to do that kick more.

I expect my halfback to control a game with his kicking. He had very few kicks that either won us possession or set up scoring opportunities. He is very predictable.

The fact he kicked less than Doueihi is very damning
