The general theme of commentary pre game was dragons stronger forward pack would win it for them, but it was the Tigers pack which was relentless and moving up in numbers to stop the Dragons go forward. This is why Brooks looked so much better than the in form Hunt out there. We haven’t had this tenacity in our pack for sooo long. I hope we don’t lose Brooks to the Broncos, because he’ll make them a top 8 side .

I’d be making him run through a banner every home game until he gets though..
Then we can all clap ?

You coming to Cambo Saturday

Yeah I might actually.
All grades ?

I guess it is a date then ....don't forget Geo likes sunflowers

I thought his kicking game was a lot better, some real accurate cross field kicks. That said he looks to have lost all his confidence in attack, some may find excuses for that but id rather just find another half back.

If it wasnt for Doueihi stepping up his form would be even more exposed and he would be in reserves already.

Jesus it’s amazing how someone can have so many people bashing him after a solid game. Try assists, forced drop outs, very strong defence and still be bashed in a team that won. The bloke is even 2nd in try assists for the whole comp. I agree he can be better, but the fact he is 2nd for try assists in a team that’s coming 13 shows he isn’t the problem. You lot wanna bag him out like he was the only player that didn’t have a perfect game.

We win more games and I’m sure he’ll get better.

It's been 8 years we shouldn't have to wait for him to get better anymore ? Doueihi has been better this yesr and he's played like 10 games as a 5/8

8 years with 5 different coaches and different spines, that would stifle anyone. Not to mention playing in a team that’s been pumped most weeks, when I say he will get better, I mean confidence wise and the relo between our spine. Brooks does a lot of work that goes I Unnoticed. I’m happy for the doueihi to stand out. But remember it’s brooks with the higher try assists and tackle percentage.

Cough cough. isn’t this Brooks’ team now and after so many years no more excuses? ?

As i have said previously, halves look good in winning well structured sides, which we do not have. The good sides have speedy players, we do not have many. They also play faster, stand deeper, and have second phase play through offloads which creates opportuities and tires the defence, we do not! Brooks has been dissapointing, but it's hard to judge his performance in this all round dull side.

Come on guys..... he’s generally first receiver - so if he moves the ball quickly he is bagged for it and if he has a dig himself he is bagged for not getting the ball to his outside men quickly enough!
He is rubbished for not getting any restarts so when he does get a few it’s not enough. IMO he is defending strongly and supporting always.
Take a look at the times when he dies with the ball, most of these times he has absolutely no runners wanting the ball or doing anything at all- its a big problem with our attack, no bodies in motion at all. Brooks needs more support and when he gets it he will look much better.

He gets bagged for having a dig himself because he's got no clue what's he's doing. So many times we had overlaps and he stepped back the other way and died with the footy against dragons. If he just give it to Joey or Laurie early it's shown we can score but he consistently runs at the wrong time. His second half was good, first half poor. Hopefully this week it's more of the second half

I thought the same during the game when he had an ideal opportunity to kick into the in goal but chose to pass, a possible lack of confidence? Because he’s been under more pressure than Dolly Partons bra strap. But I’m more inclined to think that it is confusion moreso than lack of confidence. Tamou said pregame that they train ok, but fail to replicate that same level of cohesion during a game, and I could see that in Brooks game, he just couldn’t pick what his teammates would do. I know it’s only one game, however, in the scheme of things it’s a great leap forward, right up there with Armstrong’s, because Madge would be looking for teamwork and trust in each other which was evident in the way they played. And the wonderful thing is, you don’t lose that in a week, it can grow. To me it didn’t look like simply increased effort.

Brooks has to take some of the blame .....if his kicking game could be more consistent (particularly his long kicking game ).....he'd get better field position for the quick men he does have

Fair post, my concern however is that at this stage of his career we shouldnt be having those sort of problems.

Yes Maguires game plan might not suit him but if they are all in on the coach then the player needs to be moved on.

Okay Joey johns.

Don't have to be Joey johns to see that he stuffed up a few chances yesterday by trying to go himself.

Equal second in 2021 for try assists

Genuine question, has he actually put anyone over for a try close to the line with a nice pass? They've all been off kicks or he's made a line break after someone else put him in space. Not saying that's bad I'm glad he's getting try assists but we haven't seen that nice short passing game close to the line he's got.

I must have missed it? Who was running hard through a hole or running hard on a good line?

Would it really matter how experienced he is if he’s been playing in an ever changing lightweight team?

Not sure. Brooks has had 9 so far. Adam Doueihi 4 & Diane Laurie 3. Benji has had 3 as well. Before Keary got injured he has 7 from 3 games.

Yes it would. If anyone should be able to steady a ship it’s a halfback of 150+ games.
