We've also apparently spent the second most time of any team in the opponent's attacking 20 but have a meagre amount of points to show for it.

So you could argue he should have many more try assists.

Stats don't tell the whole story. Let's not pretend Brooks is having a good season. He's been average so far. Not the best, not the worst and disappointing given his experience.

That is my biggest gripe, along with numerous commentators this year, we have a glut of field possession on the opponents tryline, and come up with nothing, happens almost every week. And most weeks the opposition get the ball, go down our end and score first or second visit, and that contributes heaps to the players dropping their heads, they surely don't have confidence in Brooks to get it done

Brooks looks outside of him and it's skinny. Opposition teams have far greater strike out wide. Sunday was a great example. Brooks provides more than enough try scoring opps to defeat the Dragons.

Brooks looks outside him and realises he can’t throw a long ball so he either passes short to the next guy or turns a plodder back on the inside with a hospital pass / settler killing off another raid .

Not to mention he hasn't learnt how to put up a spiral bomb, even Walker at 18 and 5 games in has good a one

I realise there’s some anti Brooks sentiment but I must say he played very well vs Dragons. His service was great, passes were well directed and sharp giving the backline plenty of room which wasn’t taken advantage of. If we had a quality backline with the amount of clean ball he gave them the score line would have been through the roof. it’s a team game.

He got a lot of traffic aswell. He was targeted

Luke Brooks
23 tackles 1 missed
Adam Doueihi
11 tackles 1 missed

This indicates they threw most of their attack Brooks way and he handled it perfectly. When you’re busting your gut in defense, it takes a toll on your attack (albeit I think it was fine personally)

Let’s not forget the dragons are sixth on the ladder, only team to beat the eels so far and up until last week had been playing some pretty decent footy

The expectation is for Brooks to be the team..he is not..

Brooks is part of the team he contributed to the Win ...

Watch his interview on the website. Sums him up pretty well imo. Can't think on his feet, robotic answers, nervous, no presence, no personal accountability,no character, offers little.
I know you don't have to be a good talker to be a good footy player or vise versa, but man that was a cringeworthy as his clutch plays.

It shows me the coach doesn’t know how to use Brooks & is trying to put a round pet into a square hole. Brooks can play, he hasn’t played his natural style under Madge for 18mths. He has never been a leader. Even when he played juniors with Mitch, Mitch would bark the team around. He is being asked to be something he isn’t. He did get switched off and he is absolutely trying to play Madge ball but it isn’t his style of footy. He looks unco and without confidence to execute. Maybe that will change if we get some wins. Maybe Madge ball needs to evolve and let these guys play their natural game as well. Maybe Brooks needs to find a home where he fits in, under the right coach he would very good. With Hastings coming guess we will find out soon enough.

And statically speaking if you get the most fantasy points then you’re in the game, not just standing on the field.

Just read an article that James tamou said douhie is now the dominant half. He can bark what ever he likes at the team. He's been there for 6 games and he is the dominant half. Just cracks me up that brooks has folded like a deck chair and relinquished the keys to the team to adam. Tigers need a dominant 7.... https://www.news.com.au/sport/nrl/wests-tigers-captain-james-tamou-on-why-the-tigers-need-to-hand-adam-doueihi-the-keys-to-the-team/news-story/831b0d6e4498aa7ba920df6ce86bc97d

And maybe the question needed to be asked at the accountability lunch? Apparently Madge opened the floor to critique his coaching. Apparently the players were candid and honest in their response, then backed their coach on the field.
The case against Madge rests. Thank you .

He didn’t fold like a deck chair, he relinquished the responsibility to someone more suitable for the job, so he will be free to do what he does best. Some people can coach and some can play footy, then there are those who can do both.

Doueihi going to have sore shoulders soon from carrying Brooks

Brooks doesn't concede it in the interview though. Not sure he can get his head around it. Probably why we still see him kicking kiddies bombs when everyone else realises Adam should do the majority of kicking. Over calling him I reckon.

Isn't that the half's job on the field, to lead the team's direction in attack? The bloke is reportedly on $600k a year or $11,500 per week, it's him who needs to learn, not Madge.

Look if he can't do it, then maybe they need to find him another position or release him, I actually think he would be a good 9, but the 2 blokes playing there are going OK.

At the end of the day, we need to start winning, not all Brook's fault, but he doesn't help, when Hastings comes, he will get his chance at 7 at some stage, if he shines, then Brooks will have no where to go.

150 game veteran plays second Fidel to a 6 game rookie. It's a fold on epic proportions.

Doesn't a good coach adjust game plans and style to match the strengths of his players? Cleary said as much in the article in the SMH about Brooks and the scarcity of halfbacks.. Now where is Cleary's team sitting?
