Should of cut him 3 yrs ago.. hope jock madden gets a go before year is out...

Unless Brooks is injured, Madden won't get a go, and there's quite a difference between him and Brooks and Madden does not come out in front.

Based on one game? How’s our mate Tyson gamble going over at the broncos. He wasn’t the best in the couple of games he played. Broncos gave him a chance and he’s killing it. I would happily take him over brooks without any thought.

Brooks is more talented but Tyson is more of a competitor. That's what I saw in the guy. Hopefully Hastings brings the same kind of passion because as we have seem Luke is just happy to receive a pay check and has no second gear.

Brooks sitting some of the biggest opposition forwards on their backsides tends to suggest he is a competitor and fearless. I would also consider that type of effort should inspire his team mates to do the same.

So our fearless halfback is an amazing defender? Anything else he can do as part of his job description? Organise a team? Kick us into field position? Set up tries? Take charge when the game is on the line? Lead us to finals ? As Phil Gould would say “no,no,no,no”. You see all the faults in madge but are happy to keep defending this guy who will never lead us to finals let alone win us a premiership.

Organise a team? Kick us into field position? Set up tries?

Our attacking stats would suggest yes, yes, yes.
Tigers rank 8th for points scored. Brooks ranks 13th in the league for try assists (Doueihi 9th).

This is despite being 13th for defense. That poor defense ranking suggests we concede territory and possession, so to score points despite this means he must be doing something right.

Take charge when the game is on the line? Lead us to finals ?
This remains doubtful but i don't think there is a half in the game that could take us to the finals with the squad we've got, or had the past 5 years.

I have no issues with moving on from Brooks. I think it could be the best thing for both him and the club. But, I don't see the point of getting rid of him when we don't have a better option.

Fox Sports Lab has Brooks 19 TA (8th) Doueihi 14 (15th) as a halves combo they are providing points..

It seems they don't mix though. When Brooks is in the halves without AD, he plays better (Similar to with Benji last year). When AD is in the halves our 6 creates more opportunities, but Brooks struggles. This has been a recurring theme with Brooks since Moses was here.

IMO we have to pick between AD and Brooks in the halves. I think the best choice is AD out of those 2.

I'm sure Brooks will play better at another club but I'd look at releasing him if we can get a club like the Raiders to take his whole contract, play Hastings at 7 next year. If for whatever reason that doesn't work, we look for another half and should have plenty of money at that point.

We should have plenty of money already with Packer and Reynolds off the books. Money isn’t why players ignore us.

I disagree. When it's a choice between us and the Bulldogs, it's money. If Roosters or Melbourne want someone, you're right we can't compete.

My point is, we have had money the last 12 months. What do we have to show for it? 2 ESL players. If our club were a guy trying to pick up a girl, we couldn’t attract one with a hundred dollar bill hanging out of our zipper.

And supporters have become so used to these mediocre signings that are genuinely enthusiastic about them, like they are are Matt Burton or Nicho Hynes.

That's fair. However, a big part of it is we've stopped paying ridiculous money for players. We would have had this same problem missing Reynolds, Packer etc. if we didn't through silly money at them.

I'd like to think if a top quality spine player became available, we'd break the shackles a bit.
