Brooks had a good 2 months midseason where he could have racked up some points.

It was a bit like that, then for some reason he went back into his shell late season

I’d be surprised if the players cared that much. It’s all PR rubbish.

Anything Tigers related gets the click.

This one is a juicy headline.
All seemed pretty open and congratulatory on socials.

Hope it's true though, love some drama.

Which Wests Tigers players are blowing up deluxe about halfback Luke Brooks being named as the club’s player of the year? They all thought – and we agree – that Adam Doueihi was clearly the more deserving of the award. The judges were Michael Maguire, Adam Hartigan and Danny Stapleton. Doueihi finished eighth in the Dally M Awards with 20 points. https://t.co/A1XAckubUk

This could get interesting...it seems the Imp may be on the outer with some of his team mates.

You being a mod should set a better example! Calling someone a imp is poor form from you, even if you don’t like him. Luke is one of the most popular guys in the team. The garbage that gets spewed on here about him by flogs that really only only go off rumours is ordinary.

So you have an issue with him being called an “imp” but you are OK with calling posters “flogs”?

Obviously The award was given to Brooks to attract interest from other clubs so he can be punted. Smart play by the Tigers

The issue is with a mod doing it. He should set a better example.

Not surprised a bunch of players are angry.

You have to think:

1. He's our highest paid player;
2. Seemingly immune from being dropped;
3. Has been given award completely undeservingly; and
4. Despite all this, is arguably the worst player in our 17 and one of the worst players in the competition.

It's not like we can do much worse than coming 13th in the past season, but there's no way we'll be able to rebuild with him there. It's at the point where if a team came along and offered even 25% of his salary, we'd be stupid not to take it at the risk of further alienating other players in our team.

Nah, Peter Dinklage just called me - he wants his title back.

Brooks is the worst organising half in the game. Could not organise a chook raffle. If we can't move him on they should move him to hooker where he can play eyes up football, run or pass. Jackson for 7 next year...

Unfortunately Doueihi and Laurie were injured which probably influenced the overall voting results. So why is it acceptable for players to be outraged at him due to this?
The year was piss poor and there are a number of other issues that need to be addressed which deserve more focus from the club. I.e our assistant coaches for one.

It's honestly disappointing that people are blaming Luke for causing this and dismissing it if there is any truth in it. If there is any conflict within the playing group why isn't it being handled?
We're supposed to be a professional club that supports player welfare and while I don't believe Buzz, or don't care for his shit stirring, I hope to see the club do something about this.

For my fellow Brooks haters, I believe this is the best case scenario leading into the future. Brooks undoubtedly starts the year in the halves but is under the microscope early. He has a couple stinkers early and due to the hopeful continuation of KOE cup, someone like Madden is Brought in as Maguire will be feeling the heat too because someone in such an important position not playing to scratch, effects his job too. Brooks has a year in and out of first grade and in and out of the starting side, much like Milford at Brisbane this year and the club negotiate for him to leave the club with one year to go.

Sad reality is the club simply won’t cover what could be more than half his salary for him to play at another team for 2 years and as much as I’d like him gone ASAP, I’ve come to terms that he will be with us all of next season

Agree. Bit rich for the players to be filthy. If it’s the truth of course, which I have my doubts.

This seems to be the consensus. It’s slowly dawning on people he’s not going anywhere. I tried telling you all a month ago but none of you would have it.

It doesn't need to be the truth on this thread.

I think the biggest problem with our team is competition for spots
Not saying he shouldn’t have been dropped, but who did we have to drop him for?

Madden?

Atleast with Hastings aboard there is far greater competition, but it remains to be seen if he can cut it in Australia. Kev Naiqama was a star in the super league grand final today lol
