Luke Laulilii #290

75mins
23 runs
235 run metres
85 pcm
77 kick return metres
5 tackle breaks
You forgot a few:

Sin binning: 1

Tries given away: 3 (1 due to yet another brain fart in defense, 2 due to being sin binned and leaving his team with 12 players)

Errors: 3 (including dropping the ball on the first tackle, untouched, in the Eels 20)

I don’t like it when our players get suspended but Luke is the exception. He’s still making the same braindead defensive decisions and handling errors he was making last year and has hurt us far more than he has helped this year. Enough is enough, he’s also not even going to be here next year so you can’t even use development as an excuse.

Makasini to wing, Herbert in at centre until Taylan is back.

The sin bin wasn't his fault, they both contested for the ball, Simonsson landed awkwardly and came off second best. That's unlucky I guess

Yes it was his fault. And you conveniently leave out that he grabbed Simonsson after the catch while still in the air.

Regardless of whether he should have been sin binned or not, the mid air grab was an idiotic and unnecessary play by LL that very nearly cost us the game.

I like the kid. His yardage game is great and what's even better his he often gets quick play the balls (something Skelton doesn't do.) Just needs to improve on his defence that first try where he just flew out of the line was a terrible read.
Welcome to the forum, you must be new around here, first time ive seen your username. The kid is 2nd grade at best. He is a net negative in every game he has played. Not learning from braindead errors and far too small for his skillset to cover. He aint no Brain To'o. Tigers cant continue to carry 2nd graders in firsts if they want to genuinely play for the title.

Pro league, cut the trash, plenty of better 2nd and 3rd grade stringers out there to poach from other teams. Glad he is going, hopefully he wont be seen on the park for the rest of the year. Tino, Maka, Skelton, Tavana, Toa, May, Doohey, Herbert, Mason. He should be about 10th on the list to fill in 4 spots. Should be nowhere near firsts.

Kid clearly has talent. If he can fix his discipline (defensive reads, errors) he'll be a great winger. He's still so young, I have no doubt he will become a good first grader

He is easily our best yardage back. His carries, especially when he came on after his sin bin, were massive.

It will be really interesting to see if Makasini and Skelton do better on that left edge defensively. Laulii and Makasini were good for at least one try to the opposition every match thus far.

Luke has been suspended for 1 match and replaced by Jeral Skelton. I haven't worked out why Benji thinks Luke is better than Jeral anyway. They look about similar ability.

This is Jeral's chance to prove he deserves to be ahead of Luke.

His running stat's. Look impressive because the opposing side are instructed to kick to him.
He will stuff it up at some point.
And his defence is absolutely crap.
Will leak tries regularly and is off to Perth. Leave him in reggies. Blood someone else if you want a young player for the future. Or stick with what we have now.

He will thrive in Perth . Be allowed to mature with not much pressure and much lower expectations . Once we have our starting back 5 back from injury he will see out the year in cup .
I can see him back at the club in 2030 a much better more mature player .

IMO Luke has impressed and shown more than I expected so far.

Defensive reads obviously need a lot of work - but for a young winger coming into grade he has been absolutely fearless.

I really like him. Don't think he's week to week first grader just yet, and not really invested in him given he's gone next season.

If he's is best for the job I'd keep him in (post suspension), but Skelton can offer much of the same.
