Luke lewis on the matty johns show saying he is aiming for the 500k mark when it comes to his next contract.

We'd have the cash I'd say

That is unders for a guy of his quality…I believe our interest is a serious one...

What he would bring on and off the field would be worth every cent...

Absolutely, that is great value. I'd be extremely happy if we landed him.

I chat to him every Saturday or so was taking to him after the Tigers game and he said next year the Tigers will go good if I see him this week will ask him if there is any chance of coming to the Tigers last time he said Maloney is staying at Cronulla next year

For 500k I think he would definitely be worth it. I compare everyone now to the big 4's salaries. Everyone else seems cheap. Taumalolo on $1m per year for 10 years is a steal.

Would be great to sign him, but I reckon he'll get the 2 years and stay with the Sharks. He's such an integral part of their team now and I don't think they would want to lose him for the sake of one season. If he was asking for 3 or 4 years, different story.

How's his form though? At 34, outrunning the backs of 2 opposing teams to score long range tries, 2 weeks in a row! :astonished:

The roosters have Aubuson, Cordner, Takiaho or what ever his name is, plus a few other backrowers on contract.
Lewis would start for us but at the chooks probably not, doesn't usually stop the roosters hoarding though.

11\. Matterson
12\. Cordner
13\. Taukeiaho

14\. Aubusson

Depth: Nat Butcher

The Roosters are pretty well covered there but that's hardly stopped them in the past…

Manly on the other hand have bugger all quality in their 2nd row. If they've got the cap space I'd expect them to make a serious play.

I'd also expect the Sharks to grudgingly offer him a 2nd year. It won't be for as much coin but they'll not let him go without some fight.

I'd say in descending order of likelihood it's Sharks, Manly, Tigers, Roosters.

Yeah the chooks usually like to keep all their eggs in one basket

If I could sign one guy in the comp it would be Lewis

He would instantly be our best player

Cameron Munster, Tom Trbojevic, Boyd Cordner, Jason Taumalolo, Matt Gillett, Cameron Smith…many I would opt for over Luke Lewis at 34.

Sharks will retain him he's very important and has made his money will only focus on winning.

Leave him at the Sharks he had the opportunity to play for the WT back knocked us back.I don't see why WT should fund his superannuation go to ESL if he wants a pay day.Stick with the youth we have and players that have at 5 years longevity.

Because we need him. He doesnt need us.

Correct me if im wrong but Cleary's recruitment seems all about Youth and Future
He had the chance to make a play for Gordon and he didnt, Benji.

My bet, he wont consider this seriously

Theres three reasons he won't come to the Tigers imo.

1\. He has knocked us back before.

2\. Cleary let him go at the Panfers.

3\. Sharks won't let him go.
