And what happens next season?
Who are our starting centres then? (surely Fine gets a gig by that stage)
And who are our back up?

God help us if Lulia is anywhere near the team…

Fully.
Unless we are planning on buying 2 centres then coach Potter must have no plans for Fine even next season. Because surely if he is planning on playing Fine next season why not blood him now? Lawrence and Lulia cannot possibly be worse in attack or defence than any other option.

Well considering Fine has already been re-signed by Potter for next season i'd take it he rates him…

The main thing stopping them is surely the issue of playing too many kids all at once. Moses, Brooks, Simona, Sirro, Nofo, Tapau, Lodge, Luani... It's a very young team. Throw in the likes of Gavet and Ava who are also practically rookies and i think it's really about picking the experienced players just so we have more than 3 players on the field with 100 first grade games experience. All those mentioned above have less than 25 games each.

And even then Woodsy is still very young, but he's a beast so he obviously doesn't get included in this argument...

yeh good point. i have a feeling potter still thinks lawrence's long term future is in the centres and wants to keep the simona/lawrence combo going for a few more years.

lulia was signed for 1/2 years?

If Fine not considered an option at present by Potter then for 2015 Teddy could play in the centres with Simona, allowing Moses to play at fullback and Austin at 5/8\. This is a stop gap solution allowing Moses time to develop and not defend in the front line and similar to what St. George have done with Dugan to cover a weakness in the centres. Teddy played for Italy in the centre position during the last World Cup with Minny at fullback so he is no stranger to the position and from all reports performed well at centre.

This option also allows Teddy, Moses and Austin to play in the run on side until Fine or Marion are considered up to NRL standard (even though Fine in most supporters opinion is a better option than Lawrence on current form). I can't see the Tigers buying a quality centre given that Bodene & Ava are still in contract discussions so there may not been much room in the cap left after these two players hopefully sign.

Maybe salary cap restrictions or second tier payments are preventing Fine from debutng this year.

Again we have experienced injuries and needed State Cup players to step up.

Lawrence to be shopped overseas or convert to a lock/second rower during pre season and state cup.

Your almost on my line of thinking, but I'd tell Lawrence you have two weeks to get things right or it's straight to reggie's, if you can't fight your way back by the end of the year, we both know something needs to be sorted. As for a switch to the forwards, no thanks we'll eventually have to cut some that we don't want to.

Next year without the cap preventing anything we should line up

1\. Tedesco
2\. Richards
3\. Austin
4\. Simona
5\. Nofoaluama

Austin & Simona both have a lethal running game which can set up their wingers, groom Hoeter to take over from Richards.

Hell, can we get over playing Austin anywhere there's a weakness FFS? He is a ball playing, creative 6 … or 9 in an emergency or off the bench. Stick with specialist fullbacks or centres, and if we don't have them, buy them.

Fine & Simona & make a big play for Inu, Lawrence to play lock & Blair to the 2nd row.

Kevin Naiqama would be a handy pick up along with Inu I reckon. It would be nice if management was actually thinking along these lines because we sure could use some bolstering in the centres for next season.

Apparently we are stockpiling money for a big signing next year. Hopefully it's a centre. People quote these big numbers that certain players are on but the only player in our squad who is earning big coin is robbie (meaning over 500k).

Simona hasn't exactly set the world on fire this season in fact he's probably been the biggest disappointment for me, I was really looking forward to watching him carve up this year but it doesn't look like it's gonna happen, probably not entirely his fault though our attack as a team has been poor. Just for the record Lawrence has copped way too much criticism on here he's definitely unfairly been a whipping boy for alot. Last week he busted the line with a nice angled line and unfortunately couldn't control the ball to score (not many would have) he also broke the line and through the last pass for the Brooks try, the try scored down his side were whare scored was he was just beaten by the play/pass we were on our line on our heels, what did you expect him to do? Be nice if a young centre put their hand up between now and seasons end, otherwise we need to buy for next year

Simona and nofo were on anastas side.

Therefore didn't get any early ball.

Brooks stayed primarily to the other side.

The game that Simona got injured, potter swaped him and Lawrence to see what would happen.

I suppose if you don't have the ball, you can't do much.

Lets be realistic here. The majority of the team are young. Regardless of performance. You can not dump seasoned first grade players for rookies in every position.

The forums expectations are getting ahead of ourselves. We are bot a top 6 side this season.

Better decisions required across the entire team, in every position

So you're saying it's better for the long term future for the club to persist with proven failures, who have shown no potential to improve, and repeatedly fail the team and its fans, than to give a young guy a chance to see what he can do instead?

The mind boggles…

It's a shame Moltzen is out injured, I'd rather have him in the centres than Lulia or Lawrence at the moment.

I would rather have a second trimester aborted foetus in the centres than Chris Lawrence this week
