After seeing that photo of Pascoe and team negotiating with the jet, I just dont understand why he never seems to get his man. He such a impressive looking chap. looks really professional.

Our club hasn't played finals footy in 9 years, has a bad wrap for treating players and players would come here if the CEO had a shave and a haircut.

You’re a CEO, you’re paid quite well. Seriously, it’s not hard to shave and have a haircut. The fact we even went to that meeting is an embarrassment.

I’m sorry . He looks like an “unmade bed”.
There’s been a fair bit a chatter how our front office let slip Sam McIntyre to the Titans, attributing his loss to management’s “sloppiness”.
There is a correlation between ones own presentation and attention to detail.

My wife has always said how good looking he is. Showed her that photo with the Jet, without any prompting, and she was flabbergasted. She felt he looked like a drunk.

Maybe that was to make the jet feel at home. Cunning

Do not pay overs. Never compromise. Compromising is that fatal mistake that we seem to like to repeat.

I understand and agree somewhat with your response, but if nothing changes then nothing changes, imo we just need one maybe two to come, hopefully we get that success we all crave, then players will want to come here.

While the roosters, rabbits, dogs etc are willing to pay above value, then we are destined to stay a bottom 8 club.

It stinks, let’s be honest. For a premiership winning coach, his reputation isn’t a very good one. His recruitment has been only marginally better than Cleary’s. And I say marginally because he signed LL and AD who were solid signings in 2020. He can’t attract stars though, see JAC and LM. And he stinks at retention. He’s letting go McIntyre and ET, as well as maybe Aloiai. And his big re-signing is Seyfarth.

Unfortunately, if we want to recruit stars in theor prime, we need the coach first. We need a Bennett, Bellamy or Robinson. The stars would flock. Sadly for us, as much as we’ve tried to fool ourselves, Madge is not in the same class. He’s a poor man’s version.

People forget he is the NZ coach

How many NZ Tests players has he attracted ...almost 1 .....DWZ ..and that would have been a catastrophe based on his Dogs form and injuries

But then I see a problem come June 31 at some stage in the future when we have to spend overs just to reach our minimum cap spend ....so that then leads to the next question ...wouldn't you rather spend overs on someone you really need / want than spend overs on someone who you signing for the sake of it ??

Madge built Souths into the club they are now. He is very capable of signing quality players and bringing juniors on.

I think the club itself has a stink. The Farah debacle, having guys like Tedesco, Moses and Woods all leave here to go on careers with regular finals appearances. I just think we are viewed as a place to collect overs.

Yep. I think the next generation of youngsters need to be managed better and that will be what changes our fortunes/reputation.

It's finding the right players that can help those youngsters shine that seems really hard currently.
