Maguire re-signed/extended Brooks, Twal, Mikaele. Aloiai, Chee-Kam, Lawrence, Liddel,Marshall, Garner as well as signing Jennings Leilua x2, Doueihi, Walters, Grant, Musgrove..

The only players in the 17 last night pre Madge were Nofoaluma, Mbye, Clark and Seafarth..

When does it actually become his team..

Once he gets Reynolds, Packer & McQueen off taking a large chunk of the payrol.

Yet they are all very experienced NRL player Maguire can't work with...?

The original statement you replied to was when is it "his" team. I'm just saying that it can't be "his" team, until he has the full budget available to spend on the players that fit into his structure.

If we take it to the extreme and say Reynolds alone took up 90% of the cap, Madge can't take the hit for that.

But in some ways mate, I kind of agree with you. Last night was a disgrace. Can feel the depression and anger affecting me today here today at work. It's not acceptable and something we've grappled with for a long time. We're all sick of it and they should be too. If Madge is a good coach, he would have never have let that happen.

The club surely has to take the blame...it must be the attitude of the whole club......we have a new "good' coach good coaching staff ( so we've been led to believe) so it must come down to attitude from the top to the bottom.
They need to get tough mentally that's the only way and nothing less than winning will be good enough. As someone alluded to in a different post Parramatta has done it so why can't we...I was waiting to see if we could win two in a row, as we haven't done that for several years - however we all live in hope, and I was quite distressed after last nights game- as I assumed that nonsense may have changed, but here we go again. Actually I feel very sorry for Michael (Madge) he also looks very distressed when we don't win, and I know how that feels I guess we all do.
Please Wests Tigers team try harder

It does make one wonder how we can have a whole new coaching staff and different players coming here year in, year out yet still dish up the same old crap! Our weak mentality has been an ongoing bugbear, but I’m stuffed if I know why when the team is vastly different to the team from say 2-5 years ago.

Seriously there has to be some sort of spiritual entity that has put a curse on the place! There is no other explanation for the same rubbish being dished up by vastly different players over a period of nearly 15 years.

There is not a fan in the NRL who will agree with every player a coach signs or re signs and not all of them will be superstars. The players Maguire re-signed were necessary to field a team and last week they mostly did there job and were paid a reasonable amount for their contribution. We have players in our squad who were not signed by Maguire who take more of the cap than the players on the field and until that changes this is not a situation Maguire can be held accountable for.

Well let's see if he changes the team or not. Madge was clearly pissed off, he clearly wants a better standard, the question is does he change cattle to get that to happen. I think some players should be accountable for ordinary performances tonight.

Also however we have to realise we don't have a deep roster and this time around, more than ever, you can't simply reach down into reserves and grab match-fit players.

Titans coach dropped thier experienced players and it worked for them
Time to do the same before our seasons finished

Wonder if Titans will drop 4 players after their next loss?

Dropping experienced players is no sure thing otherwise teams would be doing it constantly. Shock tactics only shock temporarily.

Having slept on it, I question where we will go with Madge. The media conference talking about losing being a trait of this club is weak as water.

That's what he is being paid >500k a year to fix and after a couple of offseasons last night's loss has nothing to do with him, it is the clubs culture.

If he is going to list that as an excuse after losses, he should resign now.

If you listen to the presser he said "we" and didn't excuse himself from the blame. He kepts saying "we all have to".

Wow can’t believe people are bashing Madge like that, it’s round 4 two weeks after a pandemic.
He hasn’t even got the team he wants yet, he’s got dead wood players here who he inherited still here.
He has changed our attitude, he just needs to change our attitude that we need to fully punish the teams below us. We actually do alright against teams above.

Let’s see how we perform the next game, I believe our mongrel will change after Madge rips into them

Adam O’Brien hasn’t got the team he wants at Newcastle but he’s seemingly achieved in one offseason what Madge couldn’t in 1.5 years.

He has a much better roster though

Must be tough to take on a side containing Kalyn Ponga, Klemmer and Mitchell Pearce. I'm sure O'Brien is disappointed that Munster, Taumalolo and Wade Graham weren't also part of the deal.
