Madge Maguire - Mega Thread

Supporting Madge as a coach (for WTs) and hating his selections are both sides of the same coin. The problem with not picking the right replacement player was on display tonight.
The standards we've been performing at took a nosedive because everything from our combinations and structures were off. The things that have been working for us were never going to be as effective with our team dynamics changing.

Felt Mikaele's presence was missed too, he and Utoikamanu have been great for getting the team on the front foot.
Liddle has shown signs he's been struggling to defend/attack for the full 80, pretty much since he's been back, so this clearly needs to be addressed as we can't seem to limit our errors enough as it is.
Our players simply needed to support each other but adding another inexperienced player into the mix, by bringing Walters in for Mbye, did nothing to help balance the scales(workload).

Sheens cannot arrive quickly enough. Badge it however you like, but a change in coaching needs to occur.

You know, we all know, he isn't here for the coaches job, so stop banging on about it.

Great post, and on Liddle, I have said this the last month, he has gone himself in the opposition red zone and lost the ball the last 3 games, twice today.
He is making some huge mistakes this last month, but yet he skates by criticism, if it was Simpkin he would have been bashed from pillar to post.

Are you the Forum censor, dictating what can and can't be posted? If your not, I'd suggest you be on your way quickly.

You can say whatever you like as long as it’s not critical of Madge apparently.

Most people on the forum could see before this game that Walters wasn't up to first-grade standard... why can’t the coach?

He does it all the time too? Ofahengaue in the second-row etc.

Please sack him now.

madge haters comming out of the closet after we lose a game........

really mate

Get real, Madge owns this loss, all those pumping his tyres last week were clutching at straws, Penrith had 8 of their top players out, seriously, we should have won.
Madge's team selections are at best hopeful, he owns this loss, 7 in a row to Parra since he arrived, and most are floggings.
JTJ is not a winger, Doueihi should have been five eight, Madge makes these ridiculous calls quite regularly, he doesn't learn from his mistakes, which is coaching 101

We still lose by 20 he’s a coach not a miracle worker.

He had a us behind the 8 ball before a ball was kicked, dumb selections, it is his forte though

Grass is green, sky is blue and Walters is rubbish.

There were no good options with Mbye out.

There were heaps better ones than the one he come up with

Like what? There is no evidence of Jock Madden being an NRL level performer, and moving Doueihi out of the halves was the best thing we've done.

It's annoying.
We're clearly starting to play to our strengths but not rectifying/modifying the areas which trouble the team's functionality the most - from basic selection choices and Interchange use - is hindering our performances/progress.
The Top teams are like well oiled machines because they have their best players in each position. Meanwhile we look like we're still experimenting, despite knowing what each player does or doesn't bring to the team.

Doueihi should be 6, and not just when Mbye is out, he was our best player at 6, Roberts is not a winger, he should be right centre, bring in a winger from reggies, Cini, Cooper, hell give Fitzgibbon a run, leave players in their natural position

Saying we lost today due to Madge is a cop out.

Not saying it was because of him, but his team selection sucked big time, putting us behind the 8 ball before kick off.
His bench use was abysmal, and he has overseen 7 straight losses to Parra, most have been floggings, so he is up to his eyeballs in this loss

Billy Walters

Madge has lost the plot

Who should have partnered Brooks today?

My grandmother whos been dead for three years.
Walters is an absolute joke of a player and should never see first grade again.
