If it means we get rid of this **toxic culture** once and for all, yes it is absolutely worth it.

.Good post @mike , but i want to now have a look at the definition of this word culture or "**toxic culture**" because it seems like it's used synonymously with somethig else. I believe no club could exist with a toxic culture, because toxic culture can only mean that the club and players would have to be engaged in some illegal activity. We live in a society where the rate of illegal activities are high enough (drink driving, drug use, DV, theft) all of this does **not mean** that the society has a toxic culture but what it means is that, those individuals are knowingly making the wrong choices, but then, every good society would have the systems in place to help those troubled individuals,
So when we say **toxic culture** that exists in a club this must be refering to the clubs **Systems** that are in place and what would make the team a better team than the other teams.

So, it has nothing to do with culture, it is all about the clubs systems and how each individual player responds to those systems.

Other clubs have been severely punished for their short lived toxic culture.
But, What the **WT** have is an improving, evolving system, and the **WT never has** or will ever have a toxic culture.

Six weeks ago I would have given anything to see Maguire punted but, unusually for me, I changed my mind and I'm prepared to let him have one more year. I think he's probably the best coach currently available with the exception of Bennett and Flanagan. I'd love Bennett but don't think he'll come back from Queensland and I rate Flanagan as a coach but, with the baggage he brings, he may be just too divisive for us. So it's Madge for 2022 but he rises or falls on results.

This attitude is what will ruin our future. What will one more year do ? Particularly for all the off contract players in 2023? How on earth can we recruit anyone when they don’t know who the coach will be in their first season ?

Seriously giving him another year is Just delaying the inevitable. Anyone who thinks Madge will see out his 2 years is in la la land

This review is taking as long as Australian post at the moment.

Apparently it’s finished, Madge looks like staying. We’ll hear more on Wednesday.

What’s the significance of Wednesday?

Ok, kinda ok with sticking with Madge for at least another year....but kinda surprised about the player support, especially after some of the diabolical games this year.

I’d take Flanagan as an assistant if he is keen

The guys need something injected into them

I don’t think concretes considered a peptide.

Didn't mean to ruin your future. He gets more than one year if he performs. There'd be at least three or four coaches in the same boat next year e.g Griffin, Payten, Brown, Barrett.

Review has been completed & will be presented to the board by Wednesday. Madge appears to have survived the cut, not so much his assistants. The support staff will not be in Madge's complete control but more or less club appointed, with the review under lining that they are well past the current game.
Player support was high & will be a major supporting factoring in Madge staying.

Thanks for the update. Has there been any word on how this decision will effect Brooks?

Got stuff wrong before and I hope it’s the same with this.

Long, dragged out circus of a review with one outcome and that’s just to save face with the media. Expecting assistants to come in and improve this rabble is like asking the common man to turn water into wine. Madge will get sacked anyway so why are we choosing to delay the inevitable

it's been clear for sometime that Madge needs help. if the players want to play under him then I can understand why we've decided it be best we keep him. Sheens will offer plenty of guidance and with two assistants that understand V'Landysball we should improve.

I'm under no impression that we are going to do it tough with a number of injuries to players like Doueihi and Talau that could affect us early on, but if our young players continue to improve then for me I'm ok with Madge staying.

Typical tigers. Nothing to see here, everything is hunky dory. How do we all stay on the pay role and keep riding the gravy train.

Yep after another failed season and the people that are in control do a review why this happened !
Well it was the assistants fault apparently and yes nothing else to see especially any of us !
Happy days who’s got the first shout!

Good one.

Anyone who expects this team to improve with the Same coach, same roster bar 2 super league players and the potential of more disgraced sacked players is 100% delusional. Chances of him being coach for 2023 is incredibly slim.

My main point which I’ve stressed on here over the weekend is the potential to use our large cap over the next 2 seasons. Picture the club talks to someone like a Dylan Brown for 2023, what’s one of his first questions ? Will Madge be the coach when I join next year ? They can start talking to these players in less than 2 months time and you better believe none of them will sign with us because of the uncertainty alone.

100%.

Circus of a review that’s taken almost 2 weeks to complete and the final verdict is that the assistants are no good.

I'm OK with the decision but feel as though its counter-productive because he will probably get the sack next season. We are going to need some big upgrades in the assistants department as well as some quality players, the latter seems quite impossible to happen so I'm not holding hope.

The tigers way will be to sack madge round 10 next year and waste another year and be a basket case. Yeahhhh we are amazing.

Exactly my point. Saving face with the media.

Gonna cop it anyway when he eventually does get sacked

The roster was never good enough to sack a coach over imo. Based on the lack of skilled players, a spine that was never settled, and a crop of players still adjusting to FG, and a cap where highly paid players were not performing - the expectation level was not realistic compared to the teams that finished ahead of them. The recruitment failures is a shared responsibility and to make Maguire the fall guy for the weaknesses identified in others would make the review process look like an excuse to find a scapegoat. Maguire will surely still be under pressure but so should some of others on and off the field.

So it’s the assistants fault we went so bad this season .Player support was high imagine how we whould of played if support for Maguire
Was not high

Makes no sense, and if true makes us look like the weak disorganised rabble we are, a perfect chance to punt Madge, Pascoe and some players.

Why are they presenting the review to the board if it's already decided. Seems to me me the board may have other ideas and their own minds

The Pom is becoming more a logical guess kind of posters than a real insider.

I'll wait untill we get an official announcement after the board reviews the findings.
