I really hope that this club isn't spooked by the calibre of journalist on NRL360. If delaying a decision upsets these clowns, we have to be professional enough to ignore them and make this decision in the club's best interest only and take the time to get it right.

The board and admin issues need to be fixed, so does the roster, but those are going to take more time. The coach that actually has the defense getting worse needs to be replaced. Who would have thought that when we finished something like the last 10 games last year conceding at least 30 points a game that the defense would actually be worse this year? It is crazy to thinks about, there were points this year where Madge basically admitted he didn't know why it was happening.

It wasn't just the senior players though, AD at times had no idea what he was doing in defence, Talua as well. We very rarely defend as a team, its individuals making individual decisions. We were so passive in defence, not just some players but as a team, we would wrap the ball up and hold guys upright when the current game is won in the collision. Our defense was outdated and excuted poorly.

The current review is only looking at football department (i.e coach) not at the full organisation which has failed for at least 11 years across multiple coaches

Maybe its better to keep the contracted coach for the time being while we sort out the mess of a club.

If we end up bringing in a new coach, better to bring them into a good structure and environment where the systemic problems have been addressed.

Otherwise the new coach is also destined for failure (particularly a rookie which as only been an assistant for 4 years in a rebuilt club)

Not if the contracted coach can't get the job done, Madge is failing. We need to fix other areas of the club, but the board is going to take a long time to fix, the roster is going to take a long time to fix.

There are actually greenshoots in the area of football at our club, the investment into pathways is what we should have done 5 years ago. Betsey and Kimmorley are going to totally change what we do in that area. Flegg was flying this year, we need to ensure we don't lose anymore of the top guys from that squad or I will reassess my opinion on a couple of personel in the club. Our real issues are at NRL and Board/ upper management level.

We can't average 30 points a game score against us for the season and keep the coach. That is terrible.

Every coach would say that to get the job do you honestly think out heirarchy would have signed him if he had said "No they are not good enough you have paid far too much for average players and it will take 2- 3 years to remove them and 4-5 years to turn them into a decent team".
He would have been told that he did not show the desired approach for the job, rather than accept the blatant fact that the leadership in our club is 3rd rate and is the main problem in our club.

Mate that was a light hearted response, the only thing that soften my stance on Madge was the younger players saying they supported him, I just haven't seen enough from him to stick with him.

I may have been a little hyperbolic in this discussion but that was more to counter @BAGNF05 blind positivity to madge. I like him, I really do and I will get behind and support him if we keep him. I just don't think he is the right fit for us at this time.

I'd rather keep madge for 10 years than have Flanagan for 1.

Every coach would say that to get the job do you honestly think out heirarchy would have signed him if he had said "No they are not good enough you have paid far too much for average players and it will take 2- 3 years to remove them and 4-5 years to turn them into a decent team".
He would have been told that he did not show the desired approach for the job, rather than accept the blatant fact that the leadership in our club is 3rd rate and is the main problem in our club.

No, they wouldn't, if I'm hiring in that situation I want to hear what the weaknesses are and the person plan to fix it, I don't want someone that is going to lie to get the job. And if I hire someone on something that say they can do and they don't achieve it then I am right to sack them.

People forget that the majority thought we had a squad on the way up when the Ivan stuff broke, no one wanted Ivan gone. We had people anxious over whether he would stay or go. People didn't want to lose him because our roster was improving, that is why Madge said he could win with that squad. He didn't live up to what he was claiming.

Thats exactly rite..and Madge accepted his inherited squad from Cleary and further added several quality and expensive failures(and a couple of winners too),who have in combination dropped us the to bottom quartile of the ladder..and likely to plunge us further south next year

Madge is a competitor and believes he can win everything anytime. Problem is not every player in the squad is also.

First year, it came to the last game to make the 8 - so madge was right.

2nd year madge stepped it up and started holding players to account for defence - dropping a lot of players. Then the WT player culture kicked in and we got eggshells.

We have since pivoted to a younger side who are more hungry but are still being let down by the senior group.

**The key issue for us is to replace the senior group with stronger willed competitors**.

Mybe, packer, Reynolds, benji are all give which is a good thing but they haven't been replaced by better senior players.

That's the job of the admin (i.e hartiagn), not madges job.

Signing nofa on 4 years was a bad call - who's call was that? Lees?

Club (CEO, Hartigan and madge) also needs to make tough calls on remaining senior players.

- Brooks is not a leader
- Nofa got dropped from.leadership group for getting passed at chaimains daughter wedding and plays like it
- Tamou is not vocal and not on field long enough
