Madge Maguire - Mega Thread

The young coach in charge of Reserves , Ben Gardiner.

He has the team playing well. The boys seem to like him too .
Perhaps too big big of a jump for him at this stage of his career ?

I love the way he is getting his team playing but would hate to see his career killed off.

Yea, wouldn't wish that in the bloke either

So in all seriousness, if Madge falls on his sword, who would be the most ideal coaching option out there at the moment?

I believe Shane Flananang should be made head coach. He is a strong defensive coach a gets the most out of his players and is looking for any opportunity?

As much as I hate the bloke, Cleary had an inferior team and had them playing decent footy.

Sorry I've forgotten, what was the year we made the 8 with Cleary?

The ultimate test is...where would Saints be with Mary?

They'd be where we are...

They made the change and brought in an actual coach / a tactician and it has worked.

We need a change, desperately. A real coach (teach how to play / tactics)...not just a motivator (the speeches only work first 12 months / no longer work)

We need a change.

The roster change has made things worse so Madge Pascoe and Hartigan should go and start again again again.
Doughy is Mdie 2.0 a jack of all trades master of none 🤬

Just wondering whether or not we can put this whole "Madge has lost the dressing room" rubbish can be put to bed now.

Yeah ...no worries ....Madge doesn't have a dressing room

Don't stop there. Fold the entire club. The club has no hope. This club if left in the comp will not make the finals for the next 100 years minimum. Get out while you're young people. There is no hope for this club. They have the worst culture in world sport.

I'm a fan of Madge but wouldn't be against it at this point. Worst start we've ever had to a season.

Every coach we’ve had bar sheens is looking for any opportunity..

I was just thinking if Madge were sacked, who would step in as interim coach?

Majority of the good sides have or have had assistant coaches with the potential to kick on as first grade coaches. Looking at our coaching staff I don't think there's anyone who has the potential to step up.

Madge hasn't surrounded himself with good staff and that's showing with how weak our defence is and how poor we look in attack.

It's hard to make a case for Madge to keep his job. He has taken this team backwards.

Madge can go and the NSW cup coach can take over. Least he has his team winning games.

Imagine rolling James Roberts out there when you have the best player in NSW cup, a centre at that, in your top 30.

Imagine persevering with Luke Brooks when you have the best halfback in NSW cup playing clutch.

A couple of weeks ago I said to stick with him. I changed my mind. He's out of ideas. Goodbye Madge.

If you want experience you go Flanagan. If you want up and coming coach you go Morris or Kristian Woolf
