Thought this would have a few more posts this week...

All but the most rusted on Madge fans know he’s had it.

How can there be any ... he hasn’t been here long enough for anyone to convert into rusted on fans.

I have yet to see a game coached by Maguire that has made me think, "we're in good hands here..."

I felt that multiple times under Cleary, which impressed me given the length of his coaching stint with us.

I do not think Madge is a good coach. A nice guy, maybe. But a winner? Nope. We need someone *like* Shane Flanagan.

Well actually Madge has a positive win record im basically every column - 56% as Kiwi coach, 58% in finals matches, 51% all NRL career, 75% in UK Super League.

So technically he's a winner, even despite the abysmal 38% win at Tigers. However name me the coach with a positive win record at Tigers... I'll save you the research: there isn't one.

You say Ivan impressed you but he and Madge have basically had the same Tigers career so far - Ivan won 18/43 (42%) and Madge is 21/54 (39%). Madge inherited Ivan's mess, Ivan arguably inherited JT's mess, but Tedesco, Woods and Slimey didn't leave under Madge's watch.

As much as I hate Cleary, with the squad he had to work with it was a miracle that he had that record.
Cleary would take the current squad to the top 8.

Stats aside if I'm being honest I am not impressed with Madge tactically. To solve our defence from week to week he moves players around to other sides of the field.

We need to have coaches on board that can come up with a defensive style that works from round 1 and in Madges tenure we have always leaked points.

In years past he has had a great win loss ratio but his last couple of years and last few seasons at souths he has struggled.

The balls in his court and if he is to be successful he needs to adapt to a much faster game where mobile players are the future rather then 4 big fowards smash it up the middle and bomb.

Which is why we have to stick solid. That process is a large part of the problem. The cycle needs to be broken.

2.5 more of years of this is not sustainable. We won’t survive as a club.

How are we going to survive 2.5 more years of these performances Mike? You seem happy to continue on with the status quo of poor performances for the sake of stability. It’s already impossible for us to attract good players, how are we going to attract them after another 2.5 years of miserable performances?

We need to break the cycle of players bludging, getting the coach sacked and the players never being accountable for their bad performances. Things will turn around as the players get the message that their behaviour wont get them another contract.

Then why does he keep picking Talau?
Why did they extend Nuffoluza for 4 more years knowing he can’t defend?
Why is his bench rotation crap ?

Things are never turning around under Madge. He can’t adapt to the modern game. It’s plain to see by the way the team plays every week. No structure in attack or defence. It’s not about the cattle, it’s about him not understanding the nuances of the game in 2021. Additionally, his use of the interchange is unforgivable. Less than 15 minutes for Blore and Simpkin? Why is he handicapping us with essentially a 15 man interchange? He has no idea.

I take your point Mike but we aren’t even trying to send that message as a club.
Look at the contract we gave Nofa.
The message sent there was if you can’t be bothered to learn how to defend after 100+ NRL games we will bend to your manager, over compensate you and give you four more years to demonstrate your unwillingness to learn how to defend.
