If you are a competitor and you want to win wouldn't you get dirty at blokes playing like they don't give a rat's? I think it would be far more concerning if they weren't bickering at least it demonstrates that some dont think it's ok.

I have belief in our playing group. To me it looks as though they're playing without confidence. A breath of fresh air from an old friend of the Club in Tim Sheens will work wonders. Just having the father figure around to advise, have a few chats and make suggestion will be beneficial.

Mate you have got him as the second coming - the pressure is on Sheens - the saviour of all saviours. I'm expecting miraculous turnaround when he arrives.

His style of football was WTs. We've gone away from it. Time we reclaimed our identity as a team that throws the ball around . We've got great potential in the lower grades and if anyone can make the most of it, it is Sheens.

Sheens could not get a coaching position in the NRL after we sacked him so he went to the UK as a coach.Moving forward he cant get a job there as one either (poor results).
He needs to be kept as far away from coaching as possible,it is a good idea to use him in the background with developing pathways but not in a coaching capacity

Yeah our current coaching staff are doing awesome why would you use a bloke with more experience than Bennett. Madge and co could be reporting to sheens

**‘I need to find men’: Michael Maguire flags roster overhaul as Tigers lashed over ‘garbage’ loss**

A frustrated Wests Tigers coach Michael Maguire has lashed his team’s “garbage” performance as they sunk to a new low at their spiritual home.

The Tigers treated defence like it was optional as the Rabbitohs piled on seven tries in a 38-22 training run.

It came off the back of Maguire’s men conceding an embarrassing 66 points in their previous outing against the Storm.

It was a good thing there were no fans at the ground because the players would have been booed off at Leichhardt Oval for the second time this season.

A month to the day after they stunned the Panthers, Michael Maguire’s side folded as the Origin-in-waiting halves of Cody Walker and Adam Reynolds picked them apart with consummate ease.

Speaking after the match Maguire said they needed to fix their diabolic starts to games.

“For three weeks, our starts have been ordinary. We have to be accountable for that,” he said.

“It’s sad to say that our start looked like a training run for Souths. It’s very disappointing to see us start like that.

“I need to find men who are going to be accountable for what we’re doing. That’s not acceptable for where we’re going with the club.

“Our first half was garbage.”

Maguire, who said there was no repeat of the silent treatment he gave his side at halftime during the Storm hammering, said he would use the rest of the season to work out which players had a future at the Tigers.

“I’ll be definitely having a look at the team,” Maguire said.

“They’ve got a week now where they can go away from footy for a while.

“I want to find the ones that are ready to take Wests Tigers forward.”

“We’re very focused on where we want to get to. Seeing a performance like that is disappointing because the effort around the organisation is a strong club.

Maguire has challenged his players' manhood publicly (or even privately)and that is the end for him. Football aside, that is unacceptable and he should be asked to attend the CEO's office this morning. No wonder we're viewed in less than positive light.

??

The players need to man up.
I think it's fair what Madge said.

Said he wants players that are hungry and want to lead the tigers to success.

Heads should roll after last night's game.

I'd be taking aim at Nofo, Mbye, anyone else.
All needing to be dropped.

He's trying to build a team and makes this comment in the press?

Absolutely unacceptable and counterproductive to what the WTs' Club is attempting to achieve.

I think you're misquoting him Paws, he didn't question anyone's manhood. He said he needs men who are going to be accountable...fair enough.

You're quoting a headline, not Madge.

No that is incorrect. Read the article.

You can get your message across in a positive way without resorting to gender.

The workplace has changed over the last 30 or 40 years thankfully.

Read up on hegemonic masculinity.

Warriors a prime example, click of a finger within 1 year they’ve signed Reece Walsh, Fonua Blake, DWZ, Lodge, Shaun Johnson

Gus Gould effect ^

We need a coach who’ll attract players to this club and can get the boys to lift and turn up…. Wayne Bennet? Even if we wanna take the younger approach and get a Cameron Ciraldo would be a good move imo

We have the young talent now we need the marquee players, we haven’t had a marquee player since Tedesco…. tells you enough

Shouldn’t matter who the coach is it’s your job to play footy ..
And take pride in your performances and to give it your all ..
This mob are a bunch of skirts !

As much as that’s true, as a coach if you can’t get them to play for the jersey and take pride in your performances it works both ways

As much as I hate to even mention his name, Cleary got the boys to put effort in there performances and got Brooks playing his best footy (halfback of the year, 2nd in Daily M voting) still remember when we beat Melbourne away and this was just after the big 4 left and Robbie Rochow was a starting 2nd rower with a heavily depleted side

We need a coach who can resemble that for the young boys coming through, which will make our club more attractable to be a part of and help with acquiring big name players

Then and only then will we start the process of being taken seriously, cause rn the bulldogs are even more attractive than us to join and Manly just beat them by 60……

Bennett is a win now coach and isn't interested in what happens to the club after he leaves. I actually think he likes it when a club implodes when he leaves. I don't think he is a good fit for us

With Hartigan behind the scenes doing the work he does in recruitment, Sheen’s impending arrival with Kimmorley as well I think we’d have high priorities with our youth and developmental approach regardless

Wayne Bennet and Tim Sheens running the show, with Adam Hartigan as our recruitment while we have figureheads like Matty Johns, Brett Kimmorley and Ronnie Palmers working around the club would be exceptional imo

If we can get rid of Pascoe, and bring in a legitimate CEO on top of that that’s when we’ll start to see this club turn into the organisation we deserve to be

Idk how Pascoe isn’t copping the equal level of frustration met by fans that Madge is receiving, he came in right before the big 4 fiasco and fumbled that badly and has run through 3 coaches since potentially 4 and haven’t made the finals even ONCE

Was told by various people who worked at Penrith who I know personally when Pascoe was there right before he started with us that he wasn’t very good at all the word “clueless” was even uttered…. looked past it when he hired Cleary as a change looked like coming but as time passes I think they were on the money and this club has felt the wrath of it ever since…. Don’t forget who sits next to Madge in recruitment meetings with players also

And we didn't buy him either we developed him and he left even with the opportunity to play with Cleary - current leading coach of the competition. The only one who stayed is Brooks and his career has remained stagnant.
Blaming Maguire/ coach has not resolved the problem of not being able to attract quality players - we have tried that. With or without Maguire we are a like a transient lounge for players looking for a crack and then get picked up by other clubs or those winding up their career. We need to put Stefano Laurie at the forefront of where we are going and build around them.

I respectfully disagree

Cleary wasn’t viewed as the leading coach of the competition of the time and immediately put a deadline on Tedesco’s offer

Tedesco, Woods and Moses were gone regardless of what coach we brought in at the time

We should build around Stefano and Laurie, but in the correct way

We continue to push our youngsters to be the face of this team at early stages of there career, both Stefano and Laurie are playing there first year of NRL…. they need guidance and marquee players around them to help them grow as players themselves not just throw them out there and say this is your team, it’ll ruin there development

It’s a repeated cycle with this club, get a good youngster, build around them, we continue to lose due to not having enough talent around our youngsters, then there contracts run out and they go to a side that has that talent in order for them to hit that next level and win.

If Madge can’t get it done we are toast. If people can’t see that they must be blind to the reality of our footy club. It’s management has been for years. Sheens is a wise move he understands grass roots footy. We have no experience in player identification and development any more. The days of multiple good tigers young players are finished. Many of the good young players were poached.

We should have a pipeline of young talent in our catchment it’s embarrassing we are so bad and have to recruit and pay too dollar.

The issue at the Tigers is culture and attitude.

We attract the wrong player in general from year 1.

This is a hard job for the best 2 or so more years.

Madge has the strength to see this through to get us to change.

I reckon Madge will walk away

I hope so, the club don't look like they are game to pull the trigger, we have a 2 week break, something has to give

If Madge couldn't do it...

Hopefully the next guy can.

We've been burning through coaches for years. No issues have been addressed.

Madge said in the presser the other night that a lot of things at the club and around the club such as pathways are all going in the right directions and the first grade team does not reflect that.

To me, it sounds like everything within the club is going well - COE, lower grades, pathways, sponsorship, community stuff, even the cap is getting back to a good spot... it's just the first grade team is the only thing struggling.

We need a review of the FG team desperately. We all do this on here every week but the powers that be need to bust out the red pen and make some harsh decisions and have a strategic plan how our team can be competitive

Waiting 5 years for our youth to develope is a slow burn. In theory, it's great but we aren't going to to be stoked with 14, 15th place finishes every year.
