We should be awarding him a medal of honour and courage for taking on the challenge, not hang the guy.

Each to their own opinion, but I could not disagree more strongly with this point, he has had more than enough time to at least get the team to show some form of improvement, he has failed.
Keeping on blaming Cleary 3 seasons later is a cop out, and Madge and his excuses are a cop out as well.
You want to give him a medal, I want to give a one way ticket out of here, that is the beauty of opinions

I'm not usually in the fence but I am in this one.

I can see both sides of the argument.

**Maguire has lost the dressing room** but should we sack the coach or sack the senior playing roster who are sooking.

Guys like Moses, Brooks, Nofo and others have been here longer than the coach so I'd allot a little more blame to them before sacking the coach.

But a new coach may want to feature those players in his rebuild.

It's a messy situation and all parties are to blame.

Who has said he has lost the dressing room? A couple of people on here.

Last week, they were saying Kevin Walters had lost the dressing room?

Haven't heard any players mention anything? No doubt, we are in a hole, but we are not a top 6 side yet? I don't think anyone thought we would compete in the last 4 games?

I believe we will get there and it is certainly taking longer than we all want, but imo, the club has to let him finish his rebuild. He has the experience we need, remembering we have been trying to do it for 10 years, it is not as easy as we all thought?

I'm saying it. He has lost the dressing room.

Players are not responding.

I'm no fan boy of the senior playing group. Most of them are imposters but right or wrong the coach has lost them.

Plain to see.

Sorry, but you’re guessing. But there are some players not playing to potential for sure.

What information do you have to support your claim that he is guessing?

None, but that’s the point, I know you have mentioned it, but no one else has, in fact they rallied in the second half of the Souths game, hardly an indication he has lost the shed. There is no proof of your assertions what so ever.

Take your blinkers off and you may see things, instead of being one eyed and negative.

We scored points in the second half because south’s clocked off. It is very obvious he’s lost the playing group.

How do you know this, you blokes just make things up to suit your story. If the team didn’t want to play, we wouldn’t have scored any points.

Not at all, I’m looking at it rationally. I actually think he lost he playing group midway through last season, and I think it’s gotten worse since then.

It’s a toxic environment with no harmony at all. Your issue is you have wanted him to succeed so badly from the beginning you simply cannot deal with the fact that he’s failed.

It’s the players that have failed, casting aspersions doesn’t make it true.

Who has said beside some of you, that Madge has lost the sheds? Not even the journo’s sprout that rubbish.

This was literally in tonight’s article by Chammas

“The news comes as multiple sources at the club told the Herald there was growing discontent among the players about Maguire, which has been exacerbated by the coach’s post-match comments following the loss to South Sydney.“

Imagine what a loss to the Broncos would do ?

It’s going to happen, we are a divided group. Young guys trying and old overpaid guys who have one foot out the door.

So are the Broncos

True. But coming off a win, getting a few players fitter and getting nearer to better times next year. Broncs will flog us.

I don't believe any of that, the broncos are a mess.

Well they won, that’s fact, and have kotoni staggs and Adam Reynolds in their squad in 2022. More than we can claim.

Yeah but I don't believe any of that makes any difference to them against us, they have been so up and down all year. Walters is a dud.

I have a different slant on this. I have been all for picking our "best" team because the comp is technically still live for us, but as it seems that there ARE serious cultural problems within the playing group, IMO reward those providing a positive culture and punish the rest, regardless of form. Send a signal.

Based on pure conjecture it would be

1. Laurie
2. ?
3. Doueihi
4. ?
5. ?
6. ?
7. Brooks
8. Tamou
9. Liddle
10. Twal
11. Garner
12. Blore
13. Joe O

14 Stef

Fill in the gaps with guys that are putting in in any grade,

For mine he has to make some very hard calls next week and for the rest of the season.

Drop Tamou, Luciano, Mbye, Nofa, Jet, Liddle.
Appoint Douihei captain and move him back to in Tuilagi, Simpkins, Simpkin, Amone, Kiah Cooper, Tommy Talau, Kei.

Fill in the gaps with guys that are putting in in any grade,

I think i'd give AD another go at 6. If he's adamant at keeping him in the centres give Madden ago imo.
I'd like to see Simpkin, Simpkins and Fitzgibbon get a shot.
Fitzgibbon is very raw but so was Saab at the beginning the year.

Kinda my point, dont care where they play and those names might be the right names, again I dont care if they are good enough, or if their form warrants it, but if they are putting in, doing extras, listening to coaches and implementing what they are asked, doing the hard things, doing the right things, through them a jersey and anyone not doing those things put them in reggies or the stands.

Im sick of it and I am so sick of Nofo. If he scores and kisses his badge I'll be a TV set down.

We actually have plenty to lose, we are still a live chance with the draw ahead but if things are as bad as they seem based on some of this evidence, a line in the sand must be drawn for the culture of this club. I do NOT want Madge sacked (as I know you do) because that rewards these low pea hearts. I want the young kids who are obviously responding to Madge to be rewarded and Nofo on his bike.

I know we can mathematically make it but the reversal of form required to do that is absolutely massive.

Nofo should be the first one dropped.

See what these players have for 8 rounds there’s enough experience in Joe O, Twal, Douihei, Brooks

I’d keep Tamou on the pine but largely agree with you. Unfortunately the guys still have to be around training stinking up the joint.

The only thing you can do to a footy player is take away their first grade position. I left out Blore I’d keep him in the team.

We scored because we got a share of the possession and some field position- something we had next to nothing of in the first half.
At 26 - 10 Souths were not clocked off.
Whether he has lost the sheds I have no clue but if it's based on poor performances this year any given week you could say the same about half the teams in the competition - Stuart Barrett Payten - not playing for the coach or out played by better teams.

I disagree, I think South’s completely clocked off.

Not buying any team intentionally clocks off with 40 minutes to go. It's a game of momentum. They are a superior side across the park but they had to play in the second half compared to what was dished up in 2nd half.

Who said it was intentional? The last 2 weeks bit the storm and Souths clocked off.

Seems I have a different slant on the term - "clocking off".

Fill in the gaps with guys that are putting in in any grade,

Agree - reward culture

Madge talks accountability- let's be accountable to those who want to move WT forward

Seyfarth has to be in the 17 - he's the one really putting in and bringing energy - has really improved under madge

Maumolo has only played 2 games, don't think he is the problem, would have him on the wing.

I can see plenty of frustrated and angry fans....however,consider some of the young guys who havent had any NRL experience that everyone is calling on to be given a go,they can have their confidence depleted, get serious injury which would halt their development, completely fall apart and make heaps of errors which in turn could cost us the game against Broncs that we desperately need....instead,let these highly paid excuses for NRL players dig themselves out of the hole MAN UP and do what your paid to do,play football, listen to the coach and win games otherwise get lost and find another club to go to and undermine that coach and throw your mates there under the bus...
Throwing the young guys in just to satisfy personal agendas against the coach would do their development great damage,if some are ready Madge would know, for all who hate and despise him,he at least looks after the young guys he is helping to develop and educate in readyness for their NRL careers....once again he is passionate and cares about the club, until Im informed by the club that he is sacked because he cant coach,is detrimental to the club, has lost the dressing room and the players cant play for him because their sooks....then he has my backing as coach until his tenure is complete....
AND thats my opinion as all others on this forum....

Sorry paws your logic is backward - it's an appeal to ignorance (logical fallacy). The person making the claim (Patriot) has to provide the evidence for their claim, not the person questioning the claim.

My question served its purpose. This is TW's response which confirmed his knowledge and position - prostrate, **eyes closed and fingers in ears.**

None, but that’s the point, I know you have mentioned it, but no one else has, in fact they rallied in the second half of the Souths game, hardly an indication he has lost the shed. There is no proof of your assertions what so ever.

So you quote another poster, don't you have your own thoughts?
Yet you still haven't provided evidence of your claims? Because there is none and you just want to put hate on the bloke.

That is the key point, we let Madge bugger around for any longer and we will have no money to spend and a real crap roster, he can't attract players, even when we have money

How are we going to have no money to spend?
If we have no one to spend it on?

Yep the risk is the worse we go, the higher the chances are we firstly can’t attract any top tier players with our money and secondly you start to struggle to get any players here irrespective of quality and have to pay overs for more players in your squad.
