Just so everyone is clear, this has been our worst season for a long time right? Like really think about our wins. Any wins against a full strength top 8 team? I literally can't think of a single win that surprised me. Madge's tenure as coach rides on next season and our results. We need some good wins or he is gone. 1 more year, if that. He's had 3 years to fix the culture, we need to see results. This year has been a void in that area.

For what its worth i would give him until his contract expires. He has gone for rebuilding the club from the base with his emphasis on youth and our long term success instead of a quick fix which has proven on every other occasion to be a failure like all his predecessors have tried(except Sheens). The last bloke who tried for a quick fix here destroyed our cap and we dont get out of the mess until the end of 2022 when we stop paying a former captain to play at the drags. He then betrayed the club and us by running away while under contract and leaving a dogs breakfast for our club to overcome by paying overs to blokes who just dont seem to care.
I want wins as much as everyone else and some of our players dont seem to give a rats the way we as supporters do.At the end of this year Madge has just about weeded these types out the club.
Onward and upward

I still don't see greatness coming from this current crop of players. I would have to do a lot of mental gymnastics to think these players: Talau, Kepaoa, Luciano, Garner, Cini, Pauga, Amone are going to grow into great players. I don't see it at all.

You are picking the lower end of our young players but even so some of those could get there.I doubt Lucy or Amone will but i couldnt rule out any of the others from becoming decent FG players

Are these not the players we have coming through? Also Leilua and Talau have been regular starters. This is not the low end. I don't rate Mikaele either. If you can't hold the ball, your future in the NRL is real slim.

Brooks' ceiling is much lower than people think. Doueihi is really lacking in speed and footwork and kicking ability and defence, yet he is our shining light moving forward?

I don't see a lot of promise in this current crop.

I don’t understand, that game today showed me more than ever that it’s not Madge ? Our team is Fkn dreadful excuse my French. Absolutely terrible. Maguire is not making 3 beaters fall off wingers in the middle of the field, or these absolute duds to drop the ball on the first tackle. We are a terrible rugby league team from top to bottom bar 4-5 players and not many of them are consistent. I don’t know what coach would come in and help this team

He is failing to enhance the team's ability to accompllish success.
People can beat around the bush all they like but the focus, attitudes and progression of most of our players is not up to scratch and this is a direct result of Madge's ability to promote the right reinforcements/standards. The whole devotion and motivation levels (from the team) look poor for an NRL team and that is embarrassing in itself.
They have one objective and whether the player's preparations or efforts are at fault, it still stems from the norms from what Madge has set.

No one available is going to do a better job than Madge.

He's staying. Needs better assistants though.

I'd take Shane Flanagan as coach

Former Magpie Flanagan and the only coach on the market capable of fixing this team. He won’t get this team to the finals either the squad has to change. Do you pay two coaches to run 10-13th again? Can’t see it happening but he’s a solid option.

I haven’t been one to call for Madge to go but I’ve been on the fringe. After today and the flogging we are sure to get next week I’m turning against him. If he was leading an under performing team in any organisation he would be gone. If he was getting these results in lower grades he would be gone. At the elite level, if he can’t get his team to play with purpose and pride even if they lose, why should he be saved?

Madge is unemployable.

Needs to enroll in some education and think of his future.

Needs to enroll in Anger Management. I think that all his players would agree on that. His demeanour is the exact opposite to what a coach of any level should be.

Cleary was described as cool, calm and collected prior to the big game last night. With so many of our players being young, what approach would you prefer to be directed to our future talent?

Crap coach doesn’t know his players. Been saying for ages amongst many other forum twellers, swearing at players gets old quick!!
Know idea Luciano is NOT a 80minute player. Flanagan called him out correctly all game weak in defence because he is fatigued!!
Comes in when he shouldn’t, stays out when he should come in. The signs of a guy who’s fatigued, because the coach has know idea about the capabilities of people he works with every day.
Listen to Flanagan he knows what’s going on, even when our defensive based coach leaks another 50 points. He still says our fundamentals are there, just to many errors! That comes from over coaching and not getting them up for the game.
I can’t believe that people think he deserves another year. Give me the drug cheat any day. Better than this crap.

I couldnt give a crap about Flanno ...he is a despicable person who shouldnt be near the youth we have....Madge cops the blame for so many things that go wrong...how about we blame Lee for extending the dummy we call a winger in Noffa, how about the young guys learn to put some heart and soul in playing the game, how about we stop bagging blokes like Mbye who was one of our best today that has had to play various positions because we dont have the back up players to do an NRL job,how about we wait and see what our cap finally looks like after Ivan destroyed it so we can buy quality, how about we blame the inconsistent board decisions over the year...How about I stop and tell you the real problem...most are kids not up to NRL standard,
Madge cant do it all for them and when your leaking points through the middle YOUR CAPTAIN (BROOKS)should start giving orders, very similar to what Munster done the other night,he never shut up talking to his players and got involved for the whole game giving directions, talking and guiding...Im not blaming Brooks alone but he has had 150 games in the NRL and should know what it takes to lead a team by now,,,but its always easy to blame the coach who has passion and try and bring in a noted cheat to coach this young side...

I’ve been a supporter of Madge but it’s clear that his messages are not resonating with the playing group and that he hasn’t got the tactical ability to correct the teams deficiencies.

The players lack really basic skills like being able to hold/catch the ball, and lack the ability to read the game and understand what to do at certain parts of the game eg throwing god awful passes after points instead of focusing on completion and getting to your kick.

Our line speed is non-existent, we don’t put pressure on opposition halves, and our use of interchange is diabolical. Our attack is far too flat at points and Brooks crabs across field so much that we limit our options and space.

This all falls onto the head coach to correct and Madge has proven that he isn’t up to the job. We’ve devolved over the past three seasons and there is no improvement in our performances.

I just dont care anymore. Stay / go / resign, whatever, if the players are failing rugby league basics on the field which should be RL101 in terms of skills base we are no hope whoever is coach. But I make no secret of my thinking that Maguire should go. At very least he should have a heart to heart talk with Pascoe, Sheens and the Board via Skype whatever and get it all in the open and make decisions accordingly. This cant go on.....................
