I’m hearing theres a bigger issue at the Tigers which will spill out. The group is split. It has been reported before but there’s a pro Madge camp, detractors and in between. I trust who told me this but again it may not be right and unfair on some players so take it with a grain of salt.

Pro Madge Luciano, Blore, Utoikamanu, Tamou, Laurie, Maumalo, Mikalele, Douihei, Simpkin, Simpkins. There are detractors in Brooks, Nofa, Mbye, Liddle.

The club has to make a decision to move players on, the coach or both. The issues are known and no one will sign at the Tigers. The other issue is the detractors have a word straight to the top causing distrust in the team and coaching staff.

I sense Sheens will remember this happening to him in a past life. I wouldn’t be so certain Madge is sacked.

Management are aware the team is not good enough even playing at full potential but unless they sort it out nothing will happen. If I was a betting man you may see a player clean out and it may or may not include the coach.

Move the detractors on, simples. Brooks and Nofa are a major reason we are not in the finals.

And what if Stef is a detractor?

Move him on as well. The cycle has to be broken otherwise we are just on permanent repeat and we’ll never be anything other than also rans.

Is getting the spoon for the next two seasons worth it?

If it means we get rid of this toxic culture once and for all, yes it is absolutely worth it. Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom before you can progress. We should be leaders but we are not because of this continuing crap culture perpetuated by some past and current players. They need to grow up and play for the jersey, the club and the fans.

Let’s say there is 2 or 3 players who are against him. We let them go and keep the coach? Ignoring the fact this has happened more than once before. Whose the common denominator here?

The players who are perpetuating the rotten culture of the club.

So the coach is absolved?

The coach is not the problem. Certain players are and some factions within the club that are enabling those players.

Players who aren’t forum favourites are the ones revealed with possible issues with the coach, and suddenly the coach is alright again

Not suddenly, every poll taken on this forum has Madge leading and should be coach. Madge has always had the majority of the forum supporting him as coach. I’ve said from the very beginning that Madge is not the problem, certain players are.

That is unusual for Wests Tigers to make such a quick decision without really considering other coach possibilities? To me it looks thedecision is Madge remaining. So much for the BS about club review.

exactly
so if Stef is a detractor do we move him on too ?
please

Who is saying Steff is involved?

Edit: all good, it was a braindead suggestion by someone i have blocked. Typical.

It was put out there that one of the players on the list that someone made of supposed pro Madger’s was actually against him. Stef was on the pro list. Considering the two of the 3 against him are the two most hated on the forum and would love to use that as an excuse to get rid of them, I asked what if Stef was the other player who was really not in Madge’s camp. Creates a pretty interesting conflict of interest among people who dislike Noffa and Brooks and want them gone.

lol or it can be just you stirring shit on the forum by picking out 1 player on the pro group and keep flogging a dead horse !!!
end of the day it shouldnt matter if your the no1 player on the roster of no30 , everyone needs to buy in and be on the same page
If not the management should be strong enough to move those players on.. if not then management needs to be looked at ... which I feel could be happening as we speak
Its a power stuggle at the moment players or management ?

I wasn’t stirring. It wasn’t me who said one of the players on the pro Madge list was actually against him. I asked what if that player was Stef? Then what would everyone’s reaction be.

So they did a review and decided that Madge is staying. So the review must be BS then, is that how you see it?

Of course that is not how I see it. My question is - Was there an actual review on Madge?

If you want to read something into it it'd be just as easy to assume Madge is gone given Lee's recent statements.
Decision is made. Have a window dressing review. Move on.

if what @TYGA says is true about the playing group and what we've heard from the press is correct in regards to the leaders of the squad being interviewed, its going to be an interesting decision for Hartigan and Pascoe to make. Doueihi and Tamou in Madge's corner, Brooks and Nofo in the other.

I think we've gone backwards in 3 years, but if the majority of the playing group is in favour of him staying and a bunch of underachievers are against him, I think it makes a decent case for Madge to stay.

Also if that was the decision he'd be more likely to trot out the "It was just a yearly review, Madge's position was always safe, he's under contract", line.
Encouraging more speculation would be unnecessary.

There is at least one name in the Pro Madge camp that is wrong.

i agree, the performance of some of those players suggest their actions don't align with their words

Almost all of them are playing like they've given up on the coach. Players will just about always say they like the coach and to be honest it shouldn't have much bearing on the clubs decision at all

We are going backwards and need a change, simple as that. If we hire a good replacement they'll get over Madge leaving pretty quickly.

This is pretty spot on. It’s irrelevant if he has the players behind him if they still aren’t performing.

Madge will be retained and there will be a player clean out and hopefully with some more media pressure pascoe becomes the fall guy from the front office
Its the only way forward both on and off the field and including recruiting

How will that work, Madge can't attract players to the club, how do we improve, or fill the squad

We moved Matterson on and it didn’t break the cycle. Moved on Aloiai and it didn’t break the cycle. So moving on more detractors will? Who will the detractors be next season if Madge is here?

An excellent point, problem is we move them on, no one wants to come and replace them while Madge is coach

Gut feel - if Maguire stays Hartigan departs.

Wouldn't surprise me at all. What's the point of targeting good players if they don't want to play for our current coach. He's on a hiding to nothing.
