Did he say there was issues?

Thought he addressed the Matterson issue well has a good relationship and he’s signed for 2 years. Doesn’t sound like a man that will grant a release. I don’t buy the Matterson story it sounds like his manager causing trouble as it’s nit a good look. Seems fairly obvious it’s about cash.

Good clubs extend and upgrade players out performing their contracts all the time. This is where loyalty is built especially doing it proactively. The issue here is he is one year in and it being driven my media through a manager.
I’d be prepared to sit him down in NSW Cup if need be for 2 years. The club has to take a stand against players coming here for an opportunity with no intention of sticking around.

News of Matterson is being held very tight lipped around the club, i cant get much out of the lads as they dont really know. Its all closed doors at the moment. Im only being told that of course the club wants to keep him as he is pure quality but with Madge the club finally has a backbone and will not bend over anymore. If Matterson doesnt put in and tanks it to get an early release he could end up busted down to the Leichhardt Wanderers for 2 years for the club to prove their metal. The club wont be held to ransom again. I doubt Madge would let him go unless a very attractive offer was tabled by the club that wants him.

I really didn't see anything to imply Matterson was leaving from that interview. Obviously Madge couldn't go into any details. He just said he's contracted, he has a great relationship with him and he's done a lot of great things for the club to help them get it to where they want it to be. And that they'd sit down over the coming weeks to address the concerns. It confirms that there's some agitation from Matto's camp - whether that's him or his agent is TBC. Whether it's money or anything else remains to be seen.

In a nutshell Matto has a good relationship with the coach and players, has enjoyed the cast majority of the season, busted his ass all year and actively encouraged friends to stay at the club sot hey can build something together. Given the above you would think something could be worked out to appease whatever his concerns actually are.

I think it was matterson who sprinkled the asbestos at lottoland last week as a favour for greenberg...he wants toddy to hook him up for his next TPA and gold watch for his missus.....

It's all eerily similar isn't it? Much like Milfords Canberra/Donkeys transition a few years ago as well.
