Looks like magic round will become a farce , with the “crackdown “ on head knocks .. apparently you will get sin binned even if player is falling into tackles. Watch the new rort by coaches instructing players to fall into tackles,

Whom are you referring to?

Edict sent out this morning as per Announcement on SEN
Every game will have lots of sin bins , they said on SEN that any head knocks direct, will be sin binned or sent off even indirect ones will ... and that includes where players fall into tackles as onus on tackler ... so a certain fullback who loves to fall into tackles will benefit

And with tigers being first game of the round , guaranteed this game will be dealt with more harshly until everyone complains next day

I guess your referring to Tedesco.
That was blatant targeting last week.
Paulo Hit him high and forced him to drop and following that he hit with a shoulder via a shoulder charge. Why shouldn’t they have been penalised.
Oh and we don’t play the roosters again.

Honestly reckon our game is the closest thing to a competition, and even then I think the Knights will still towel us.

Going to be some cricket scores this weekend.

Yes great entertainment, should be renamed mismatch round. Don’t think there’ll be much magic happening except for the top teams coasting to victory...again 😔

They are an abomination of a club. Noticed last week when NRL said bubble would be closed to KOE players and all clubs should pull their NRL players, Parra ignored it and played their usual KOE players and hammered Norths who pulled most of their top players. Then during the week Parra want an exemption for 4 players to be allowed in to the bubble because of injury/suspensions. Still don't know what he outcome was from that - hopefully the NRL told them to get stuffed.

You'd think they could of worked the draw to at least have Broncos v Titans/Cowboys

Better of having Magic Round in Sydney

That'd be tragic round then 🙂 - Homebush is one of the worst grounds in Australia to watch league unless you have a telescope and 20/20 vision.
Suncorp is still the best place to watch a 'big match' game in Australia - even beats the old Lang Park for the cauldron atmosphere. Been to many a SOO there and never been disappointed with the view even when up with the Gods.

Agree on Suncorp ..
Was thinking they’d average larger crowds in Sydney with only 3 QLD teams in the comp ..
We’ll see I guess ..
Looks like NZ have put up there hand to stage magic round .

I’m just happy we are playing the first game on Suncorp! Imagine how worn out the field would be after 4-5 games. Ankles and acl injuries are more likely.

We get one crack, we gotta make it count.

No argument with probably getting more people but given we play the GF in Sydney (and I think it should remain that way), besides the venue, it is better to have such an event out of sydney - gives good PR and a chance for out of town team fans to see their team.

Definitely as you mentioned, I wouldn't be against it being held in NZ - rugby revenue is down and we could get more league fans if it was (Apologies to All Black fans).

Reckon It'll be a good chance once sfs is finished

You have it everywhere if they can keep it going - put it out to tender, get kickbacks from the local govt, have it in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Auckland, Townsville, Wellington, maybe Singapore or Hong Kong one day far in the future post-COVID.

I'd hope the WA government would tell the NRL to shove it if they came asking if there was any interest. The NRL have strung the RL people of WA along for many years now.
I'd barely be bothered to go and watch this farce of a competition even if it was played across the street from home. Hats off to the people brave enough to travel long distance to go to Suncorp for the weekend, hope WT make it worthwhile for them.

Benji Balboa has arrived.

I completely disagree. I see a few close games and a 2-3 upsets at least.

Comp has evened out a bit last 2-3 weeks. Top teams getting a few injuries/suspensions.

They were basically allowed to play/travel to Brisbane. They weren't allowed to train with the team, but since Parra play on Sunday, that expires the day before, so they can still have a run with the team anyway. Soft by the NRL..

Man Saab has some speed, would have loved him here.

So good to see Gamble in first grade, and playing with great passion and intensity.
