I'll stand corrected…..Top 25 that's interesting.......makes only 1 spot left then for first grade....

Good on Nu....Hope he gets a real shot at the starting 17.........

what is the $450k for , magpies state cup team ??

From what I understand $450K may be a little higher in 2010…... is what NRL Clubs can spend on players outside the Top 25 Squad......we feed that into 2 State Cup teams......the rest of the Wests State Cup players money comes from Wests Rugby League Football club which gets grants from Wests Ashfield and where ever else they can raise the cash.......

Well you tell me how much you think DAVIS should be on FOR 1 YEAR ?

I have no idea…..If it was a first grade contract it would be min 50 to 55K + incentives for FG games played....

well after talking to a few players this year, the money they were on didnt even pay for the petrol to training and back for the year,.

$450k whats that ? Magpies spend no where near that on players. Would be surprised if its even half that.

Akeripa and Davis would be on 2nd tier contracts for 2010 - similar to what Gallant was last season…. basically peanuts.

How much can Clubs spend?
In **2008** the Salary Cap will be a maximum limit of $4.1m for the 25 highest remunerated players at each club. All other players that play NRL in the current year must fit under a **$350,000 Salary Cap this figure is commonly referred to as the 2nd Tier Cap.**

Come to think of it ….i think I'm wrong the second tier cap is for players outside the top 25 who play NRL in the current year.....Skando, Gallant, Mataka, Schirnack and Dwyer this year....

Staks how could Aker and Davis be on second tier contracts if they haven't played NRL?

Where do Wests get their money to pay players?

Thanks tomcat. Will look for the lineup around the 16th.Hope the money improves in 2010 for the west magpies boys it's a struggle, maybe the NRL could help out more here and boost the payments.Even the Junior leagues up in Qld struggle to and only for the devoted would fold up…......

And sadly its that way this year too. With the exception of nu who got a good upgrade its pretty much the same as ast year.Josh did not resign for the money I can DEFINITELY tell you that. He would of played first grade for nearly every other club by now :supporter: :supporter:

Where do Wests get their money to pay players?

Not sure what you mean 'if they haven't played NRL'. The club just announced a top 40 squad. Of those, the players who arent part of the top 25 NRL or NYC squads will more than likely make up part of the 2nd tier salary cap. Eg 20-50k plus NRL match payments. The likes of Taumata, Lazarus, Tupou, Akeripa, Davis etc will more than likely be part of this.

The money ? Not from gate receipts thats for sure :stuck_out_tongue:

From Wests Ashfield. Around 500k a year. Without them the club wouldn't exist. At the last AGM it was mentioned that Wests had one of the lowest operating budgets of all the State Cup clubs.
