I did and remain unimpressed.

The you must be the guy you in only be a tad impressed my Folau.

He's no Folau and we've seen the tall, powerful backs with good speed succeed. Look at
Folau, Inglis, Boyd, Suli, Cotric, Rapana, Chambers, Mitchell, Ferguson, Bird, SKD, Toupou, the Morris twins. All have similar body types.

I'm with you Paws. We need someone like Ferguson on the wing.

1\. Dylan Edwards
2\. David Nofoaluama
3\. Moses Suli
4\. Taane Milne
5\. Blake Ferguson

Weapon backline, you have creativity, class, speed, strength and size.

Take out Fergo, you instantly lose that description.

That's what I'm trying to say. We don't need any more ISP and ESL players. We have enough of them so far. Did any of you watch Friday night? We have a large cap space available yet here we are being linked with Guerra, Eastwood, Thompson and Fonua when there are much better available. I don't expect every single position to be filled with a quality rep player, but at least some consistent NRL players.

Edwards and Milne are fast appearing very unlikely. Fonua and Johnstone seem to be the ones on the radar.

As long as he can tackle and defend in combination with his team mates I'm cool with him.
Seems many didn't realise he had a few years at the storm…. I think of Utai when I think of Fonua... Matt had his faults... But he used to get our sets off to a great start

Matt also use to get the oppositions end of sets to a great finish whenever the ball was kicked in behind or bouncing off his melon…

Two sides to Rugby League ...hopefully Fonua has an upside in that area...

Less of an issue if Fonua ends up at centre.

Best part for me is he is strong in the carry / tackle. Sick of having blokes who get easily dominated in tackles, I want players who break tackles in the forward direction. Tedesco for example, he breaks a million tackles but most of those are across/backwards in direction.

That is a good backline Milky. I'm glad someone else is just so sick of shorter backs with modest pace.

Well said. Anyone who is not tall, fast and powerful please go elsewhere.

One of our big problems has been Moses moving across field. Fonua and Suli in the centres will be fine if and only if we have a five eighth that goes forward and not across field. I am sure that Reynolds will get the backs moving forward - he is not a dancer. I have also seen Gamble and he mostly moves straight and puts pressure on defensive lines.

How tall does he have to be? His current club has him listed as 6'1 on their site:

http://www.hullfc.com/team/first-team/mahe-fonua

Although I did see him at 5'10 on another site so who knows…

Edwards and Milne are fast appearing very unlikely. Fonua and Johnstone seem to be the ones on the radar.

Milky doesn't care if players are likely or unlikely as long as there is a microscopic chance he will make the team list! just like Thurston or Taumololo or Israel Falou

We are the worse team in the nrl at running metres. Fonua is the biggest metre gainer in the super league Absolutely makes sense to get him.
First hit up nofo, then fonua followed by matulino and packer. No more 30-40 metre gains then!

You're making me dizzy Milky.

I've always thought Fonua would be a handy signing. Happy to have him on board the bus.
