I find this to be a odd decison from coach Ivan cleary. Cheekam has always seemed to be a 2nd rower in my eyes he lacks speed and always gets beat on the outside.

MCK was rubbish today. He is just not a centre.

I don't think he is a first grade player. He makes mistakes and isn't good enough to be in the centres or the backrow.

Was our worst today and given how bad littlejohn was thats saying something.

Surely MWZ was injured not dropped

Chee Kam is a weird one. He has the body of a good centre and the physical skills for the role but grew up as a second rower and stopped growing. He has too many forwards habits for a centre. Doesn't offer the finesse needed for a centre but he isn't physically impactful enough for an NRL backrower.

He is the kind of player that we have seen tossed onto tge wing in a pinch and thrive to the point of making it his actual position. Like an Oates, Tuiaki type. But that kind of happenstance is rare. I feel sorry for him because I think his physical development has hindered his footy development. He was the best backrower in his age class but never filled out.

MCK always looks fatigued

On the other hand Lovett has the stamina to keep on going
I dont rate Lovett but i have to acknowledge his willingness to keep on going

Lovett is a weird one. He was the opposite of Chee Kam. A damaging centre that got too big. Lovett is a footy player whose physical development limited his learned skills the other way. He would be better off at a club with established forwards to learn from.

I think Lovett is better than Chee-Kam. Lovett is good apart from a dumb mistake per game. That mistake though can lose a game for us and that is unacceptable. I don't want either of them in our team.

Chee-Kam is just another pretender that us supporters have to endue ..hopefully for not to much longer.

Agree with the MCK comments but at the same time MWZ isn't much chop either, wouldn't mind a James Roberts type in the centres. Speed kills

We bought him as a Reggie from Manly, and there's a reason for that. He's a Reserve Grade player. Finally we are buying established NRL players, and Chee Kam,Lovett,Littlejohn and Naiqama can go back to ISP.

I think MCK can be a bench backrower, because he can cover backs for injury. Despite his liabilities he's a better centre than Lovett.

People talk about his frame and style, but Tigers are doing the same with him right now, he has the bulk of a backrower but gets thrown into centres all the time. His hitups are fine, I wonder if he was used as a proper backrower on a regular basis how he'd go - get him to run at higher speed into gaps, because all he is asked to do right now is hitups.

Marsters being called up is interesting, because like MCK he can also cover centres in a pinch. Probably talent-wise Marsters has more potential, but obviously very green.

Looking at next year, I am all for a mobile backrower who can cover the backs, and that might actually be McQueen. But those types of footballers need to make their tackles, we can't have MCK and Marsters missing 4-5 tackles per game if that is the role they have.

So yesterday from MCK was bad but he's not always that bad. Compare to Lovett who was a walking tragedy any time he got asked to play centres.

MCK's stats: 12 games 177 tackles 30 missed tackles 13 errors. He is consistently bad.

Compare to say:
JLJ: 8 games 191 tackles 31 missed tackles
Lovett: 3 Games 115 tackles 6 missed

Yep. He is one of those players that looks likely but you can't win games with the amount of errors that this guy makes.

If he fixed his mistakes and had a backrow position permanently that he could grow into then he might be a first grader but at the moment he wouldnt' make a decent NRL team.

Hopefully MCK spends all of next season with nsw cup
