Manaia Cherrington signs with Cronulla Sharks (James Hooper)

Hooper reporting he has signed for two years. Makes sense with Manaia being 18th man for reggies.

So much for Manaia to Penrith though?

Can you confirm this with a link?…
All I can find in the latest tweets from James Hooper, is that Ennis retiring, possibly opens up the door for Robbie. I find it difficult to see that Cronulla would sign another rookie, cherrington has played 15 games, as their only hooker when they have a very talented hooker in the 20s that will over the next year could progress into the first grade squad. ThoughT Robbie would be ideal for their transition. I'll admit wishful thinking but we'll I guess that leaves St George.

Interesting Rankin over Addo-Carr and Liddle over Cherrington, Lovett over Michael-Chee Kam. Even Joel Edwards gets selected over Farah.

Is this merit based?

The club has made it clear that Liddle is the next in line for the 9\. Im not sure I agree as I have massive wraps on Cherro but Liddle has not put a foot wrong any time he has stepped out on the field for a Tigers side. Liddle probably looked more assured in his one game in the top grade than Cherro. They both give quick, flat service. I would say Liddle has the stronger running game and Cherro has the stronger organising game. Taylor has made it clear he prefers the former in his number 9\. So be it.

Thank you
Ahhh just seen the fox sports clip.
Interestingly James Hooper mentioned it as though they had already signed Mania Cherrington. As in prior to Michael Ennis retiring announcement.
Made me wonder how long ago this was done and why hasn't it been confirmed until now. Although it still isn't confirmed by either club.
Secondly to all that, Hooper believes Farah is still a good chance to go there. Even Shane Flanagan has been quoted as showing an interest.
Of course out of respect for all parties and to minimize any disruptions to the teams planning for the remainder of the season / finals. He has shelved the possibility until after the october….
Interesting times ahead.
Play grandpa football with Benji? or perhaps be a massive contributor to delivering a premiership to the sharks. (regardless of this year's results).
I know where I'd go....

5 doesn't fit into 4 at Penrith

Cleary ,Te Maire Martin ,Cartwright, Moylan and Wallace

I know this sounds crazy , but what are the chances we see Moylan become a hooker at Penrith ??

And what is Will Smith doing next season as well ??

1\. Moylan
6\. Martin
7\. Cleary
9\. Wallace
12\. Cartwright

Will Smith will be in State Cup if they re-sign him.

If he came here , it's highly likely he would end up at hooker.
He qualifies , he's a fullback

It's their Pokemon go rankings

Really poor call by the Tigers management and crap coaching. Sad really. I always liked the kid.
Best of luck mate. I can see you scoring on us one day and everyone shaking their heads wondering why we let you go (eg Korobete, Fifita, etc)

Let say a year from now and JT does leave and we get Ivan Cleary as coach I would Imagine our odds of getting Cleary Jnr would shorten dramatically. Not to mention I bet that would be an easy cap rort situation pay dad overs and give some back to his son.It would help both Cleary's and our teams cap dramatically.Cleary has every skill set our current halves don't have.Brilliant kicking game a very good goalkicker and a very good defensive game. Not to mention his passing game is developing nicely.I would love to get Cleary for 2018 if he can leave his contract early(tied up to end of 2018).He would compliment Brooks or Moses(my pref Moses…just)nicely.
