Whos opinion was it DCE was worth 500k?
DCE himself and his managers…the rest took less
Not surprised youd be a DCE fan...he is a massive flog

DCE's manager said don't go to training as he is worth 500k.

Board put pressure on the coach and they folded.

He signed a contract and then they won the comp that year and wanted it upgraded to 500k.

Think he was on 50k so thats why it was an issue as it forced some players out to keep him happy.

I read the story. HE was undervalued.

A good half is at least worth 500k. A guy on the edge of Origin even more.

Watmough the busted second rower just couldnt stomach that. Thats the issue here.
 
The issue stems from player managers and clubs using the players as pawns when they are trying to secure deals, and budget within the salary cap.
They are the ones that create the mess and the players wear the heat of it all when it goes pear shape.

Sounds like DCE was on a minimum contract for his debut season, which was a 2 year 50k deal.

Apparently it kicked off at training when the players were in a group and DCE wasnt training. Watmough said his time will come for a big contract and DCE said to Watmoughs face that he has been told not to train as his manager said he can get 500k after they won the comp.
 
DCE was already contracted and should have honoured that contract

He could have asked for an upgrade and maybe he got knocked back
That's life
The club just cant find another $450000 without letting other players go
But to refuse to train with the team
Well that's just low and disrespectful to all the other players
I mean who does DCE think he is

I rarely say this Patriot but I agree with you. We go into meltdown when Anasta airs dirty laundry. Watmough doing the same.
 
It wouldn't surprise me one bit , just look how DCE ditched the Titans after signing the Contract ( I know cooling of period ) , poor form .

All this drama couldn't be happening to a nicer Club :mrgreen:
