i like the fact he can kick goals but honestly do we really need him we have a 80min hooker who is one of the best in the comp….. unless piggy wants to cart the ball forward stupid signing.... and im sure he wouldnt come cheap

If Folkes can work some magic on this guy or probable a LOT of magic to get the weight off this signing could be a real smokey .I am a bit surprised he has been signed though as lazy is word that follows him around…but a high percentage kicker and a very expieriance player interesting time will tell the tail!

Mark has changed alot in his time in England. He has settled down alot in his personal and professional life. He got married and seems a very balanced character.

I would rather have him on the Bench as a back up hooking and back row option than carry a outside back on the bench

I know this was 7 years ago but that was a solid performance.
I'm a little bit excited about having him play for us. Between him and Payten we've got some ball playing options within the forwards. I agree with smeg i would rather have him on the bench than a winger

He often found himself thru the line and despite appearing slower than drying paint, he could make many metres before being rounded up or finding a support

Doesnt mind getting dirty in defence

Experienced and a footy brain…and as mentioned a handy GKer which is a bonus

His personality seems at odds though with what we all like to think is a Sheens prefferred player...smegs point though sees this a non issue

Eric Grothe asked him on twitter if he was back in the NRL and he said it was just a rumour, and that he would be

on holidays until March! Make of that what you will!

Also interesting to note that he follows the wests tigers, Is that an indicator?

Well he is a former local boy (Holy Cross), so of course he supports us!

Was one that slipped through the net really. I imagine he's signed to Balmain and will simply provide backup for Farah (during origin or injuries). Apart from Ridell, if we do have him, who's our backup hooker? Parata??

If he has a kid now maybe he wants them to grow up in the same neighbourhood he did, rather than in the UK…

Wouldn't mind Piggy. He can play some hooker which could be a problem for us if Farah isn't available. He busts through the line, is hard in defence and a handy goal-kicker.

Our Marquee signing for 2011? unbelievable!.

I dont know why everyone is still expeting a marquee signing.. Its quite obvious that we do not have room under the cap to fit another high profile players with the amount of stars and depth that we already have.
However I think its a good signing and believe piggy will be straight onto the bench in round 1.

The expectation that the club was to make One 'Marquee' signing each year came from the club itself, after signing Gareth Ellis the administration promised us a quality signature each year, 2010 saw Daniel Fizthenry signed.
:wahoo:
