it may have just been a missed kick for touch but in context it was a crucial mistake putting the team back under pressure after having crawled out from under a rock after the disgraceful first half. As a leader of the team Benji should have realied the importance of the kick, the stage of the game, the importance to the team and did everything he could to ensure the ball went into touch. The momentum of WTs at the time could well have led to a try and put the team well back into the frame- so so so frustrating.

Of course not finding touch ruined our growing momentum, but the reality is–-- it was 24 zip at half time.... It was always going to be an almighty task to pull that game off... I'm not sticking up for Benji though , as i do believe we had a hope still but it further highlights the poor things he does and in light of this contract situation.. Is it any wonder we feel annoyed ... It seems the issue is he was promised an extra 2 years from humpty... But other then that ... We have 2 years still!! He's still valuable but no where near the hype or money that is being bandied around.

Thought the very same thing and I think it hit the team the same way , the sting went out of them and we lost momentum.
I am thankful for what he has done for the club but seriously on what he produced tonight he can't seriously believe he will get that extension or deserve it.

Not sure what the salary cap situation is currently but with the season now over i'd be very happy to see Siro at 6 and Brooks at 7 for the remainder of the season. Put Marshall in state cup until the end of the year and then grant him a release if he asks for it. would be the best thing for the club, no doubt about it.

We can't move forward and rebuild as a club with him there.

Don't know why our 6 is getting blamed for an average overall team performance. If he picks up the ball from Sue and scores and finds touch he's a hero, is what it is and he's the villain.
Guess thats what happens during contract negotiations. Unfortunate.
Flame me if you want but the reality is that we were average to the point Woods probably won't get selected for origin and Farah looked pretty awful in the first half.
Yes he killed our chances but the team overall shouldn't have a horrible first half and rely on a second half to win.

I pretty much Agree with everything being said.. I was just trying to make the point there were other factors why we lost. We lost the game In the first 40\. Correct? Benji then killed off any hope we had of a miracle win… But even then we were still In it until the Lawrence no try and then completely gone with that non knock on call which was disgraceful . But it highlights dumb things Benji does. I think we know power has shifted and naturally we feel sick when a inconsistent player wants extra 2 years whilst he still has 2 years left on current deal...
