"Think we need an old fashioned kick off at training this week involving the entire squad including the ball kids. If anyone lands one from in front they get the job".

That's exactly how Marsters got the goal kicking job. Cleary found that we did not have a goal kicker. He lined up four potential kickers for a goal kicking competition. Marsters won and became the Wests Tigers goal kicker.

Which is kinda my point. The club does not seem to value goal kicking.

To me it's this simple- we need a more accurate goal kicker. We could have won that match against Penrith on Friday night if Marsters had've kicked one of those attempts at goal. I would like to see someone else have a go next match as surely they will not be any worse, sorry Esan your goal kicking days are up unless you improve drastically…..

Yeh defence is the question. If he can defend well there, he may add something nice attack with his size, skill and smarts. From what I understand, he has defended better this year with more bulk on his frame.

To be honest I have not seen him this year.
If he gets his defence right he'll make a very good Centre. I think it would be his best position

I agree - the problem with having both Fonua and Thompson in the team is lack of height on the wings. I'd definitely drop one of them with Jennings to the wing and Gamble in to centre. However Gambles kicking percentage this year is only 76% and was 65% last year. He does seem to kick most of the easy ones though which is always a 50/50 with Marsters. I also think Marsters general play has declined because of the pressure of goalkicking.

Looking at combined career kicking averages the most likely candidates are:

Benji - 73%
Gamble - 71%
Mbye - 67%

I wouldn't be rushing Gamble into the side for that level of goal kicking. Benji looks like next cab off the rank when he returns. We are definitely light on though.

Yep, and that kick he placed near the sideline. I reckon the try was scored a good 5m in from the line. What the heck was he thinking?

He did kick 2 near sideline conversion' earlier, and his record is something like 46 from 50, so yeah, he and Marsters are on par

Martin is a bit better and more accurate… sign martin, give him kicking duties and the pressure is eased on esan thus improving his game imo

you could argue and say that it was one of his first “pressure” kicks

You could, but you would end up losing the argument.

Esan couldn’t kick any of them and there was no pressure so what does that say?

What if Marsters is kicking this week ??
Is there some kind of fan revolt thing we can organise?

It's already making me nervous.

Marsters in not a rear good kicker full stop and should be a back up if needed in a game due to injury… All Good goal kickers miss but mainly the touchlines ones and they eat up the close ones. I feel if we continue with him kicking it is only going to drag his main role down as a player. He just needs to go back to just focusing on the footy side of things and get his confidence back as he is a weapon when on song.

Question is who takes over ? Moses for me , Benji when he plays ? Brooks ? Thompson ?

Going up in 6's and not 4's makes a massive difference to the game and the confidence of the team.

A lot of "pressure kick" situations this weekend and funnily enough, half the blokes fudged them and half did not.

Corey Norman's probably the "pressure kick" King right now, jagging the match-winning FG two weeks running.

Ignoring obviously that he missed a few attempts as well.

I wasn't saying they were on par. You imagined that.
