Marty - Why I love him

This guy is the sort of player not only the Wests Tigers need but the NRL need also. In a time where the game is fastly becoming a natural alternative to Stillnox, we need characters like him.

While Jonathon Thurston may be the most complete player in the NRL, surely Marty has to be the most improved? His aggression and commitment is second to none at present. If he didn't play for the Wests Tigers he would be my most hated player in the NRL.

That's why I love him and that's why the NRL should love him.

I love him as well. He has passion and some character. I also love how he is controlled in his aggression. He never comes across to me as a guy who is going to lose it. He plays hard but not dirty.

He was great last night, damaging and in an unstoppable mood. Assume the coach tweeked things a little as well, as he was doing all his running on the left side (and mostly with outside support) to utilise his great right arm fend to its full extent.

He needed to pick up his game though after the last two efforts as a starter, particularly last week, having only touched the ball for the first time on the fourth tackle of our third set with the ball.

He a mad bastard in the best possible sense. Up there with Hodgson, Prince and Ellis for the title of best signing the club has ever made.

The title of this thread sounds like an article title from New Idea or similar

Award for "Best Palm 2015" has already been decided.

Yep it's gonna take something very special to top that one. Would've been even better if it was Inglis he palmed though :sunglasses:

The Warriors will more than likely offer him a truckload to go over there in 2017\. They're signing Kiwi's left, right and centre atm. Obviously keen on playing their local boys. I think they'll make a play.

He adds so much to the team I can't think of a better acquisition to the club in recent years particularly the forwards.

I still reckon the palm in round 1 v the Titans backrower was better

Yeah agreed, that one he literally threw him into the ground. Awesome player and very likeable, hope he plays his whole career with the Tigers!
