Now I know why he struggled to make a Statement when we had no CEO in relation to the Farah saga…..Man he struggles Putting words together. (I blame the flies).

On a serious note how can JT say" it's a position we need strengthening " when asked about the Ballin signing.
It only needs strengthening if in actual fact......something is in the pipeline for Farah not to be here next year.
If this is to occur before next year? then ok with Ballin being signed but if not? make no mistake it's a tactic to force Farah out of here, there is no other explanation.

We have the hooker position well and truly covered already without Ballin in the picture with Farah, Cherrington and Halatau more than capable of doing the job.
Anyway this only confirms to Farah the Clubs intentions and in my opinion he has been given no option but to stop fighting for what he loves and get the Hell out of here cause there showing him a total lack of respect now and making him fight for his spot even more uncomfortable with the signing of Ballin.

Can't wait for our team sheet next year

9\. Ballin
14\. Farah
15\. Cherrington
16\. Halatau

More hookers than a Brothel

He has trouble putting words together because it is all spin to mask what the real aim is - to get rid of Farah at any cost.

There's no conviction in his voice. It's like he's looking at a script, but has trouble reading it. 😕

Matt Ballin is a good boy , he'll do as he is told and won't be rebellious like Farah …

On the flip side what a garbage signing ..30+ years old and coming off a knee reco ...
Surely were not that much of a basket case are we ???

Regardless of this situation - putting crap on Ballin is ridiculous.

Obviously you wouldn't know a decent footballer if you fell over one.

Decent enough for our NSW cup….

It sounds to me like Ballin may be signed and Robbie is staying. Personally I think if its true its a bizarre decision.

Whatever happens you cant deny the following;

1\. Matt Ballin is a very solid player who has played at the highest standard at a club with a winning culture.
2\. MB has always conducted himself in a very professional manner. In another era he would have played quite a few games for Qld SOO.
3\. MB will probably have a positive influence on the younger players in our squad.
4\. If injury free MB will put in 100% every week.

Although the signing is still a little strange, its very likely that we got him very very cheap as a trade for Taupau…..so we cant complain, especially if Farah leaves.....cherrington may be the future but its still a lot to expect him to carry the role for 80 minutes week in week out and Halatau is more a stop gap hooker.....so signing MB might turn out to be a master stroke.

Only time will tell..........

Its a signing that shows the ineptitude of the coaching staff. Emotion is getting in the way of decision making. We desperately need forwards not another hooker who is well past his prime.

It may be a strange signing if Farah stays & is somehow selected by Taylor, however I think its important to remember Manly were pretty desperate to get rid of Ballin. Our club may make some stupid decisions but in this case I would imagine Manly are contributing a fair chunk of his wages for the next 2 seasons!

Its official - announced with the re-signing of Halatau. "We have three hookers in the squad like we did in 2005". Welcome Matt Ballin.

Now a days I appreciate John Elias more - he could stick up for the team out in front.

Geez, I'm so glad that some of you blokes aren't running this club. We've picked up Ballin for a song and yet you still complain when all we are doing is getting back to the position that we had last year.

This signing only makes sense if Farah is gone to ease Cherrington into FG, apart from that it's a bad move. Does Ballin and Farah now share the hooking spot and we potentially lose Cherrington? Can't see Ballin or Farah playing NSW Cup, somethings going on.

In other bad news Matthew Woods signed with Parra today.

We were already well and truly covered last year, what Taylor said was rubbish, Luani didn't see a game in firsts all year, he was barely even considered at hooker if considered at all. We already had four capeable hookers at our club, we just signed a fifth.

Farah
Cherrington
Halatau
Liddle
Ballin

Why couldn't we have negotiated and snared one of Manlys players that we actually need? Liam Knight comes to thought, maybe one of their backs? Our weakest position, a whole heap of players that we could have taken off their books come to mind but no we sign a 31 year old coming off the back of an ACL injury, manly are laughing so hard right now. Josh Starling, Brenton Lawrence, David Williams, Feleti Mateo all would have been pleasing.

LIDDLE ISN'T A FIRST GRADE HOOKER
LIDDLE ISN'T A RESERVE GRADE HOOKER
LIDDLE IS NOT AN 80 MIN. UNDER 20's HOOKER

Can all and sundry please stop referring to him like he is anything more than a kid who's had a few good games in his age group.

So is Cherrington. You can't run with them both.
