Matt Ballin signs for two years - official

Gee it's weird seeing him in Wests Tigers colours , Good luck to him , he's the ultimate Professional .

Cherrington will learn a lot from him .

Farah will be a Dragon.

"I've had nothing but compliments and kind words since coming here" - I'm glad that he doesn't read some of this forum's comments.

I might not agree with the Clubs decision with how things were handled with the Farah saga…..but it doesn't mean i don't wish Ballin well at our Club , only a true Moron would have this mind space.

Ballin is a wonderful player and i've always been a big admirer of him.

Very experienced player who has enjoyed a lot of success at the very highest levels of the game. Whatever happens with Robbie, we now have another first class 9\. Cherrington is still maybe a season away from being a full time replacement for Farah or Ballin. He will learn plenty from either or both of these men

He has been a a very good player for Manly. My main concern is his injury, and how well he will come back from that, at his age. He's a personal trainer outside of footy, so his fitness isn't in question. Time will tell. I do wish him well. Hope he does us proud, whether it'll be in first grade or Reggies.

Why would you come to a club with the NSW Origin hooker and one of the best young hookers on its roster? The answer of course is JT thought Farah would be gone by this stage. Unfortunately for JT this hasn't worked out and the big danger is if Cherrington does not play NRL next year, other clubs will pounce. Cherrington needs to learn in the NRL, just as Farah did.

JT thought Farah would be gone… or JT knows he will be gone.

I still think the latter in which case it validates his reason for signing Ballin.

I am sure all will be revealed in time.

The answer is a Pay slip.

Ballin is here like so many others to prolong his career by a season or 2.

Not a choice, Upgrade or a passion for the Black and Gold.

Pure $$$

I dont blame him

And he's obviously a good chance of playing first grade, otherwise he'd have finished at Manly in reggies. No point going elsewhere for the same conditions.

I thought the same thing, like seeing Benji run out in red and white for the first time.

I agree with what you have posted about seeing some of our players move on to other clubs and seeing them in that clubs strip for the first time, its quite weird isn't it, so I guess some of the Manly faithful will be thinking the same of Matt Ballin.

I would like to say to Matt Ballin, welcome to the Wests Tigers. :master:
I hope he will be happy at our club, and I agree that he will be an asset. Good Luck Matt :sign:

I think signing Ballin is a waste of money in the cap, just because Robbie and Taylor are both to pig headed to sort things out.
The money would have been much better spent on signing Dylan Walker, seeing that Taylor said that we needed to boost our centres!!!!!!!!!!!!

We're paying for hardly any of Ballin's contract. How is that a waste of money exactly?

Doesn't his full contract value count towards our cap for the next 2 years? How does it work?

ballin signed a three year deal with manly before toovey got sacked. cleary didnt want him so told him he could go. we like all other clubs who sign contracted players would have worked a deal out with manly to complete the signing. I would imagine it would have minimal effect for us on our cap because manly wanted to get rid of him not the other way around like the taupau situation.
