I think GNR made some good points on Lodge as a player -
said something like he's overhyped and over-rated - didn't really show anything when playing first grade but everyone seemed to froth over him.
He's average at best.
@diedpretty said:He would still have to be registered by the NRL to get a gig with Brisbane. We all know how thats going to go.

>
Controversial forward Matt Lodge has taken his first steps toward NRL redemption after avoiding a US jail sentence for a violent night out in New York.
>
The former Wests Tigers prop was solid in Redcliffe's 10-10 draw with Sunshine Coast in Saturday's Queensland Cup trial - his first game back since his US arrest two years ago.
>
Lodge was sacked by the Tigers after harassing two women then assaulting a man who attempted to help them in New York in October 2015.
>
The QRL registered Lodge's Redcliffe contract in October.
>
But Lodge, 21, only learned in December that he would avoid a one year US jail sentence after a plea deal that included completing 200 hours of community service in Australia.
>
Redcliffe coach and former Queensland winger Adam Mogg said Lodge was determined to earn an NRL lifeline at the Queensland Cup club.
>
"He's a long way off where he needs to be," Mogg said.
>
"He did some average things today and he did some really good things.
>
"It's his first decent game of footy in a long time but he will get better and better.
>
"I am just happy for him to play footy, that's his goal in life."
>
Redcliffe is a feeder club of NRL outfit Brisbane and Broncos scouts were tipped to watch Lodge's return in Saturday's clash - a curtainraiser for the Melbourne- New Zealand Warriors NRL trial at Sunshine Coast Stadium.
>
Lodge was rested for the first half on Saturday but started impressively for Redcliffe in the second stanza before fatigue set in.
>
The US arrest was not the first time Lodge had made headlines for the wrong reasons.
>
He was suspended by Wests Tigers after being arrested for failing to leave a Kings Cross nightclub in March 2015.
>
And he copped a two game ban for being spotted in TV coverage wearing wrist tape with "c…" written on it playing for NSW in a 2014 Under 20s Origin match.
@Harvey said:Apart from the 3 offenses listed above, wasn't there also a local domestic violence charge that saw him stood down from the tigers before he decided to up the ante on his US vacation?
