Mavrik Geyer

Back in the Day when Men were Men and Khods were tucked in, I was at the Sacred Site LO in 1993 with my newly inked Banner:

GST

G
EYER
SIRRO
TIGERS

Sadly, MG only played 13 games for us in 1993 due to injury. But he played on with the Western Reds for 3 seasons (not a lot of games, again due to injury) but rejoined Penrith for the final 3 years of his 14 season run. In fact, in his last season he played 20 games which was 1 short of his peak when at Penrith of 21 (twice).

The young bloke is tall 191cm and around 105kgs - No MG, but better than Kyle Lovett.

He's average.

Reality is he's Mark Geyer's son and Greg Alexander's nephew. If he was close to good enough, he'd be getting a run in first grade at Penrith. The fact he couldn't crack first grade properly at Penrith with that background suggests there's not much to be excited about.
Don't worry he'll be back playing for the panthers .. we'll give him a crack, more game time then the Panthers can give him,he'll play well, then the Tigers will offer a contract extension and all of a sudden he decides to go back to the riff with a bit more experience. remember the Tiger are where you cut your teeth in first grade and then move onto greener pastures. Unfortunately.

Thats starting the day with a positive outlook 😎

Got no idea how he plays and maybe he's quite good so disregard what I'm saying but feels like we are buying more players that have a brand attached to them, or those that can attract sponsorships.

Doesn't matter as long as they play well for us I guess

I must admit, when ever he got a run for the panthers , ( and it was very short runs ) he did not impress me at all , he has been waiting for a long time to get a start , he was in line with smith and Henry, they have kicked on , but Geyer has not , but we will see , it’s only a 1year deal

Smith and Henry are props and Geyer is a second rower. He was behind different players

What exactly has he done to give you that suggestion?
Yeah Sukkar seems he on track to be a Seyfarth 2.0. No criticism of that - useful 18/19 in a squad.

Still time to prove that prediction wrong of course but that’s his current trajectory IMO.

Do hope Sukkar and Geyer are our starting second row in NSW Cup and they’re both viewed as next man up on their respective sides so they can really hone that position.

Who said we weren't a development club.

Can people now stop screaming that Benji and Richo have no idea about our shortcomings as a team?

Every single position that has been weak, they've actively gone out to strengthen it.

KPP starter and Geyer and Roberts coming through, along with Godinet in juniors.

I'd rather get these guys by being patient for depth than more Charlie Murrrays and Sukkars. Sorry Tony and Charlie...I'm sure you're both good blokes..nothing personal
Agree and then I disagree

Richo is addressing short comings

Sukkar is a beast finding his feet in first Grade. Big, strong, mistake free. Only very young.

Definitely a good one.
