Maybe we are not as good as we think we are ??

On a positive note no other team can disrupt the opposition with sideline to sideline passing like the Wests Tigers.

On the replay I watched of last nights game Brandy made the point that the Tigers do with their long passes what other teams do with their big forwards do – lay a platform for tries.

If only we didn't drop the ball. Imagine how good the Tigers would be if they didn't drop the ball?

Well Montague if you mean never drop the ball we would be unbeatable . But thats million dollar question How do we improve our completions percentage and play the same brand of footy ???

Im sure at the start of the year the hierarchy at WTs looked at the comp and saw that it was a good chance of taking out the prize as many supporters did.
But as with any long term plan things can change along the journey.
Long periods without Lawrence,Tuqiri,Payten,Ellis,McKinnon, Gibbs and even Galloway.
In there place Dwyer,Fifita,Woods,Shirnack,BMM,Simona and Im sure Ive missed some one,now if you add up all the games that each one of these guys have played it wouldnt equal the total of 1 of the regular players have accumulated on there own. Also take a look back at Lui,the plan was to give him a taste of 1st grade and then return to 20s,that didnt happen due to Moltzens injury.
What Im trying to get to is the preparation of these younger players hasnt been ideal and they now carry the hopes and dreams of many supporters. They haven't had the experience around them to build the confidence they need in 1st grade and have had to watch out for each other .There time will come as a unit to be feared but in the mean time, mistakes will be made, intensity will be learned and experience will be gained.
To still be in the 8 is a show of what is to become our future group of players,so relax and enjoy the ride,it might not be this year but the future looks good.

Macdougall you bought up some real good points. Dragons and Storm have been the most consistent teams from the past 6 or 7 years and before that was the broncos. They all had strong players in the 1,6,7 and 9 and then with a few other above average players around them who played well because of them have made the finals pretty much every year. If we had of kept Prince and Hodgo (though Prince I think would have left anyway), aswell as having Skando, buying a young Galloway and then with the development of juniors like Heigno, Fifita, Lawrence, Ayshford, Gibbs, Fulton, etc we would have certainly made the finals more than we did in the past 5 years and been a threat!!

Without doubt we have a inflated opion of our playing roster and where in the past I always thought a streak was just around the corner I now think most of the juice has gone from the orange and this team is on the slides and their quite a few players who need to be put out to pastures

I thought the best I have seen the Tigers play this whole year was during the golden point 10 minutes against the Knights. If you have it recorded, go watch it. The bigger guys ran straight and hard and pushed through the line on every tackle. Suddenly the few sets they had, they were making 50-60 metres each time and setting for a good finish. Never seen Fifita better….Head down, ass up and go forward. Both Ellis and Heighno did the same, one off the ruck.

If only they did that during normal time, we would have won by 50.

We were playing no better at this time last year, and we just missed the GF.
Plenty of time in 2011 for us to gain some confidence and pick up our game. We'll be right mate.

Swprdy. thats because teams are scared of giving away a penalty in golden point so they get off the tackled player as quickly as possible, allowed us to get a roll on and march down field. During normal time we regulalry only make 30m a set. Its not good enough.

We were helped by the fact that the refs are reluctant to blow penalties in golden point, otherwise heighno would have been penalised for intefering with the markers before farrahs drop goal.

I disagree Djeks. i think it goes the other way as the players know that the refs hardly ever blow a penalty in golden point ( unless it is so obvious that they have no choice ) so they push the boundaries a bit more than normal and get away with it.

off side maybe, but when it comes to lying on players, noone does it.
