Maybe we should sell up to Koukash

Now he would be laughing his ass off at that same thought

Not necessarily. The bigger the turnaround, the more kudos and advertising value for his bucks. With our player roster it would look like an enticing proposition.

If anything, it would drive the price of the club down further and he'd snag it for a bargain. Not bad considering the potential. Huge fan base, good young side coming through. Imagine what his dollars could do for our football operations, particularly S&C department. Could be what we need to bring an independent interest into the club and make educated decisions on what is best of the future of the club, rather than what's best for Wests or Balmain. You could be assured that playing with his own money he would be doing everything in the best interest of the clubs future. What better way to unite the fans?

That and we get away from proceeds of gambling.

I'm not knocking the idea CB , I was the one that brought the idea up

Yes you make some valid points

We have a massive fan base that goes missing whenever we things aren't going well and rosy that doesn't appear to be interested in becoming members

We have a good young base coming through that has yet to prove much and seems injury prone

We can't attract talent from the NRL to the club , and any we do we pay massive overs for

He still has Wests and Balmain to deal with no matter what way we cut it

Of all the clubs mentioned I would say bar the Titans we would be the least likely to be snapped up

I'm surprised Melbourne weren't included as one of the possible purchases. If I remember rightly NewsCorp were hawking them around last year in an attempt to get out of NRL ownership.

Terrible idea. The Magpies should control the financial side of the venture, as they have the money. Once you sell the club, you have to accept whatever demands a new owner wants with little or no objections.

Do you really want someone who is not Australian, deciding who our coach will be, who our staff will be ? Yeah we are crap right now from CEo down to the playing field, but the new board is designed to bring stability and a level playing field back to the team.

I want someone to unify the club and stump up to make us competitive on the field. The current system isn't working. The Wests Group will only put so much into the club, they don't have infinite funds plus I don't like leagues club funding models as it relies on gambling proceeds.

What does that have to do with anything?

What does this club need:

The number one issue is money….as we all know money can solve many issues.
Money will allow us to hire a top notch CEO and the best market and admin staff available.
The Wests Tigers brand is without doubt the most marketable brand in the NRL…When the team is firing as we did in 2005, the WT are everyone’s 2nd favourite team, crowds flock to see us live and TV rating skyrocket when the WT are on.

Having Koukash are our owner with his bottomless pockets, he will demand and get success from the top of the organisation to the players. As for us the fans, we would benefit as our WT will transform from a run of the mill run organisation to a highly professional organisation, we could be the envy of every NRL club if it’s done right.

I feel there is nothing to lose and everything to gain with this guy owning our club…he has the runs on the board with other clubs, so he won’t be another Tinkler.

Bring on Koukash I say!

The only thing he won't have control over is the salary cap. But he'll have friends in high places who might be able to help.

He wouldn't have control over the board either CB

I'm guessing the NRL would pull all support (including the independent board ) if Koukash wants to buy us outright

That wouldn't be an appealing thought for Koukash

If he is interested in buying Wests Tigers…... no brainer Fans have been invited to apply for positions on the board of Salford Red Devils - in advisory capacity in helping the club look toward the future. Now that would be interesting!

Love the idea and money seems to have been one of our problems.

Wests Tigers are a well loved team and do attract TV games and media

Hopefully the factions will go and we will be Wests Tigers going forward.

@Telltails, could you imagine some of our loved forum members sitting in the one room deciding which way the club should go….My God the blood will run for ages.....GNR4 Life and Foreveratiger could lead proceedings, followed by our mate Irvine and Magpiecol..Happy and I and the rest will have a full time job just keeping them apart...It would be bloody interesting and it couldn't be as bad as at the moment :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:

Why keep them apart True Tiger

I like a bit of fun in my life

Then again Col and I have butted heads over the years 😱pen_mouth:

As long as their is 6 Balmain supporters and 6 Wests supporters , gotta be fair :brick:

Agree Cb, I want unification and preferably ownership by someone with deep pockets who can bring us into the 21st century with training facilities, rehab etc and give the club fresh direction.

Now I'm sure I'm going to be brandished with a tin foil hat but does anyone smell a possible cover up …..........

Koukash has supposedly spoken to 2-3 NRL clubs

The independent board seems to have taken far too long too organize even for a group of the NRL's incompetence

Brian Smith is doing a report for the NRL possibly the report could be for other reasons ??

Potter has recently just come back from ESL (Not sure if Potter has had dealing with Koukash ?? )

Blocker comes out a month ago with a statement saying he knows something that will shock Tigers fans

That same evening we had a extraordinary board meeting "Supposedly " to discuss Potters future and almost all can't understand why Potter's job is under discussion

Then the CEO comes out and says Blocker is full of it and Blocker shuts up (not in his nature ,that's for sure Usually he spews crap all the time )

And the club seems to have come to a halt in making any decisions in regards to anything

Probably means nothing , but a few things seem more than coincidental

Especially seeing the Knights are the other side having trouble with the NRL getting together an independent board to take over

Happy you are entitled to think something smells off,I asked in another thread if anyone has heard anything about the last place left on the Independant board, and I have not heard a thing..considering it was of the utmost importance to have the new board in place ASAP things are awfully quiet, maybe Ink,Irvine or Magpiecol could have read or heard something..If you guys know anything can you let us know please,we all seem to be hanging on a thread for some positive news.

This is no bueno for me.

I'm planning on winning the Powerball Jackpot here in the US. When I do, I'm buying this joint out.
