Mayer set to resign

Bang on Geo. The review was conducted for the NRL who will have the control over the board next year. They want to know where the money they've advanced for the club will be required and best spent.

The current board are probably guilty of leaking the details of the report, but I think you'll find they had nothing to do with commissioning it.

It was a club review. Junior pathways, governance, the whole shebangabang

if it was a review of junior pathways then why were players interviewed and why were they reluctant to be involved ? i personally think there is more to this review..

It was an entire club review.

Everything was looked at.

We are a rabble, Mayer knew it when he walked into the joint. A review by someone like Smith who is really good at kickstarting failing clubs was the perfect man for the job.

The media has twisted this in part because of vendettas held by Rothfield, Hadley and their ilk.

I understand that the media is twisting the facts to suit their agenda but i remember clearly on 2SM last week Mayer stating the sole objective of the review was to improve junior pathways. If that truely was the case then why were all the players being interviewed ? Surely someone like blake austin or martin tapau would have no idea about the junior pathways system at wests tigers ..

this whole saga started as a result of the mid year Brian Smith review….why on earth did this review have to take place when the clubs focus should've been to make the semis is beyond me....surely such a review should have taken place AFTER the seasons completed....surely this is Mayers domain!

There is probably never a good time to conduct these reviews (in any sort of workplace) but realistically, mid season would seem appropriate to conduct the review analyse the results and implement changes for the start of the next season. End of season would see players away on rep duties, holidays etc. Strategically and for long term benefits, it's the best time.

The problem wasn't the review. The problem was the board member/s who leaked the contents of the review to the media in order to put pressure on Potter. That is the single key issue in our club at the moment that everything else can get traced back to.

We need to find out who leaked this info, publicly name and shame them and ban them for life from representing the Tigers in any capacity.

Well according to Mayer the review was never about Potter, so either that is the truth and the media are beating it up or the stories are true and Mayer is telling lies.

I guess we may never know either way but time will certainly give us a clearer picture based on outcome

Fair dinkum, Blocker's a goose. He's clearly every bit as thick between the ears as he is everywhere else. Obviously he's not following developments too well if he's barking up the wrong tree as he is. The only people to blame in all this is the media and any leaker from the club. Either the media is making it all up (highly probable), or the leaker/s is/are leaking like a sieve.

Look at the crap coming from the media. How did they know about the contents of the review? How did they know players were texting each other 30 seconds after last night's interview commenced?

They made accusations of Robbie, which turned out to be so old as to be irrelevant, but rather than back down, they made up new accusations. And when that failed, more new ones. Apparently Robbie was going to throw Mayer under the bus, but guess what? It didn't happen. Lower than gutter scum, the media keep banging on about this, and will continue to do so until someone loses their livelihood.

The only person who should be sacked is the leaker. They should be publicly named and shamed so that they can be marked "never to be employed" by every employer.
