Isn't it funny that our normally chirpy CEO is nowhere to be seen?

Always happy to post spin on Twitter all day everyday, yet nothing but silence when the proverbial has hit the fan.

I suppose when you have just disgracefully thrown the coach under the bus, there's probably no amount of spin that could save face?

He's on twitter now.. however not really saying much that is note worthy.

Basically assuring he is reading everything being sent to him And he expects to wear some of the criticism

A few posts on twitter per day is hardly a massive time sink.

Also how has he thrown anyone under the bus?

Jesus, I'm not into blindly defending anyone, nobody is bigger than the club and nobody s beyond reproach, but acting like any person from WT somehow concocted this story in order to further an agenda, is just stupid unless you have evidence the rest of us don't have.

Why are people losing their sanity over a DT, Ritchie article?

And no, saying that Mayer didn't deny ISN'T enough proof to confirm jack ****.

I bloody hope so..I sent him an email when I got the members exclusive email this evening re: The board meeting outcome….basically wished him luck getting more than 8,000 members next year while this club is made to look so unprofessional....

If it was all just a bs story then why did we need to have a special board meeting just to say Potter wasnt gonna be sacked before the end of the year, A 30 second appearance on the footy show from ANZ by mayer could have confirmed that,
Ive no doubt the story was true.

That seems slightly naive.

We have people here ready to lynch Mayer as the cause of WWIII for some reason. I doubt an appearance on TFS to commit to Potter would have changed things.

In reality, if the board is who decides Potters fate (and it is the board, not the CEO), it makes sense to hold an extra-ordinary meeting to put things to bed, Could you imagine things if we had to wait until Thursday for them to meet and agree on a timeline?

But what was the board meeting about? A BS Story in the paper? That ridiculous!! I would hope they would have been at the game today, surely a quick chat to decide to send out a media release would have sufficed. No, lets go to Wests Leagues and have a full bolwn board meeting to refute a story in the paper.Well they better get set for about 50 odd meetings this week to refute all the stories that are coming.
I think your being naive that if you think it wasnt about Potter being shown the door immediatley.

Seems the club can't win no matter what. While you might have been satisfied with a statement or an interview, a vast number on here wouldn't be happy with anything less than a full virgin sacrifice.

After hearing from the media about Potters fate being decided at the board meeting this Thursday, I think it makes complete sense to have it moved to tonight to get on top of things. It kills the story dead in its tracks doesn't it? Or would you prefer to hear fans posting about the board meeting all week?

Yeah …Mayers hands have been tainted somewhat

I think his hands are somewhat tied, rather than tainted. He may be the CEO, but he still has a master, being the board.

As both sides have confirmed some negotiations have taken place with Potter/agent, one can only assume that Mayer recommended a contract extension to the board.

But Mayer could of ended this speculation this morning both on twitter and on the Footy Show live cross today

Why didn't he come out and say that Bulldog Retard is full of crap and then come out and support Potter and the club instead of having Liam on the live cross on the Sunday Footy Show

Sends a strong and positive message from a supposedly strong and positive CEO and then the club can focus on winning football games

You are leader 24/7 not just when it suits your agenda and saves your continued pay check

I thought your point was that it was all a BS media beat upand his future was not going to be decided this week?

Potter might not be getting a 2015 contract. And Mayer isn't the final word on whether he does or not.

Boil things down to the bear minimum here, we knew Potters future was being decided so this isn't a shock. We now get a story from the DT about how Potter was about to be sacked with Kidwell installed as interim, likely from our Thursday board meeting. Mayer makes a few tweets disparaging media noise and now we have had an early board meeting tonight to quash speculation and avoid a week long crapstorm.

Thats about the long and short of it.

The board meeting tonite put credibilty to the story and has NOT avoided a week long crap storm. They're amateurs either way.

So the players don't have a right to have a clear mind going into a game

LaT your an intelligent person

Imagine what thoughts were going through many of the rookies minds

What would a new coach mean to them ??

Possibly having your contract torn up because the new coach doesn't rate you

Possibly being forced to play a position you don't like

Being dumped into NSW Cup until your contract is up

These kids don't need this sort of crap going through their minds with one of the more important games of the season against a club that needed the victory even more badly than we did

Mayer doesn't decide whether or not a coach is sacked. The board does.

And the board just held a meeting tonight in order to confirm that Potter would see out the year, and a decision on 2015 would be made after our season had finished.

Mayer could have put out that statement BEFORE the game. He didn't.

So if you don't think he has thrown Potter under the bus, you are extremely naive.
