Mayor to bare teeth if Tigers move away

Surely it's not all about making money.

Playing at these "money" grounds are a soft option.
Can't our board and management work out another revenue stream ?
**The people love Leichhardt …. Doesn't that count for anything ?**

Yep.
$50 seats opposite the dead ball line

We average more people at Homebush/SFS than LO. I think its a minority that makes a lot of noise that loves LO to be honest.

Link to Grant Mayers comments on Twitter denying a move away from Leichhardt and having a crack at the Mayor. The Mayor has replied and the will meet this week.

WESTS TIGERS boss Stephen Humphreys believes matches at Leichhardt Oval are set to become member-only affairs as the club's round one match against Cronulla heads for a sell-out without tickets going on sale to the general public…...............

The buck stopped with him

You get another few sponsors pulling the plug 95 percent of the games will be at stadiums that pay for the privilege ..it,s a business . Personally I couldn,t care less if I never went to Liechardt or Campbelltown again , I keep saying go to a stadium and increase the membership x 100 percent value for money / comfort/ transport….. I will purchase 6 season tickets tomorrow if not forget it ...paid $30 to stand on grass on Friday night and the family weren't,t interested . Time to move on ! Over it.

Rubbish …
Humphrey's believes ....... The CEO is entitled to express an opinion. It wasn't endorsed then and there's been no mention since.

The buck stops with the board.

LOL…thats why the board remains and Humptys gone, thank christ.
Think with your brain for once, not your heart.

It's also unusual for the Tigers to play a popular Sydney based team at Leichardt, they choose to play the games with the smallest expected turnout in their smallest capacity grounds. Play the Cowboys or the Storm at Leichardt, take the Bulldogs game to a bigger ground. That doesn't necessarily reflect a fan preference for Homebush or Moore Park.

Perhaps I am in the minority of people who'd rather stand on the grass than sit in a public school issue plastic chair, but I don't think anyone enjoys being in a stadium at 15% capacity. It's just an embarrassment. The boys must run out and feel like no one could be bothered. The site of whole bays of empty blue chairs is a poor image for the game.

In a theatre or more multipurpose arena like Allphones, the crew will just drape off or remove unsold seating, reducing the size of the space for the size of the event. ANZ stadium might be alright if we could somehow hide all the unsold seats, like hang advertising banners over the top bays, rip seats out etc. Anything to make it feel less sterile.

If this guy stopped whinging and hit up the government for a upgrade of the facitility, instead of having a goi at a team trying to remain loyal, he wouldn't sound like such a toss! He's worried about the money the area will loose, but the club has to look at the decision finacially, more bums on seats, you can make the ticket prices cheaper and still be ahead. Yeah, get the Leagues club approved and then we'll talk.

Seems to me the stupidest decision was made by the NRL and 9 when they decided to schedule all 4 LO games this season on either Friday or Saturday night.

That really is crap all night games , what happened to good old Sunday afternoon at Leichardt , Gus Gould reckons you can't beat it ?

Crowd averages for 2013
Campbelltown: 9,698 (3 games)
Leichhardt: 10,544 (4 games)
SCG: 21,844 (1 game)
Allianz: 9,858 (1 game)

7 of our home games have been on either Friday or Saturday night, with just 2 on a Sunday arvo, and they were in rounds 2 and 6\. Of the remaining 3 home games, 2 are on Monday night and one is on Saturday night. Talk about being sabotaged.
