I'd prefer a Captain that has cemented their position in the team.

Fair enough. I just think Tamou will lead by example - do the job packer was bought to do I suppose. Plus he’s experienced and successful. And I reckon Doueihi will need to focus on a new role

You can't be captain if your not on the field

Tamou will be only for 40 odd

I can only guess that Madge sees Laurie at fullback full time if he arrives
Even if it is after a dozen rounds

If that's the case and Mbye doesn't make the 17, how do you then stand him down as captain

Its better to do that now
There is nothing to say that Mbye can't be acting captain while Tamou is off, should he be on the field

This may also help with offloading Mbye if that's an option for the club
If any club was slightly interested then they may watch this space a little closer now
I could see Mbye at Brisbane or Cowboys
Who knows, the Dogs may even come sniffing because thats what dogs do

Anyway if it was my choice I would keep Momorovski over Mbye
For the $ he is much better value
But that's just my opinion

I think best to have doueihi and Brooks focussing on establishing their combination, they don't need any extra pressure this year

Tamou best choice, is a proven leader, knows what to say at the right times and has the big game experience

Only other main candidate in my head would be nofa, based on experience and dedication to the club, but wouldn't be a very practical choice I know

Just watched the video. Mbye spoke very well.
Hopefully it was just my screen (Or the lighting) but the colours on the jerseys looked Red and Black like the Bears

I like Mbye I think he’s a very decent player, seems like a stand up bloke. I said this a while ago on another thread but he cops some stick because he’s horrendously overpaid, which is not his fault but that also comes with expectations. He clearly can’t live up to his price tag taking the captaincy off him or him stepping down can only work in his favour less pressure just get out there and play football.

Pretty much mate.

It’s all in speculation into what happened, all I see from it is having a dig at him thinking that he fought someone for the captaincy and gave it in.

Stay with me on my radical idea........ give the captaincy to Brooks (there I said it)

I think Brook’s mindset will change, whereby, he will finally understand it’s his job to grab the team by the collar and be in control.

If he fails than at the end of season move him on, one way or another.

He's a respected player but too reticent to be captain.

I'm not with the lynch mob on Mbye either.
He's a good player. Overpaid, sure. But still a decent player.

I think he'll show that this year.

Agree with this... He's a good leader for our younger players imo... Seems like.he has a good character and a decent fella

It’s a shame really, u can see that mbye has bought into the tigers a lot and the fact u could visibly see the tears in his eyes it shows that he truly wanted to be the leader the tigers needed. Unfortunately this day and age it is easier to blame the captain and coaches then it is for individuals to put there hand up and admit they wer far below there best since mbyes time as captain (mbye definitely hasn’t played his best footy either)!! I will admit I think it’s the best move for him as player and I think he will put his best foot forward and play some good footy just a shame that it had to be this way for him!!

Some guys grow into the role though. He probably does have leadership qualities, but it didn’t transfer onto the field as much as he and the rest of us would have liked . To imply he’s some bozo is far from the mark .

I just don’t think he spoke (on the field) enough, if at all from what I could see.

When the players were down (especially the younger blokes) it was his job to get them back and focused on the task ahead, he just didn’t seem to do that at all.

Probably a good bloke, but I think he was pushed out, more so that he was never guaranteed a start in the run on side.
